ROAD TRIP TO DEATH

RTTD 02

Part 02.

“Hoooooo!”

Patuloy ang pag-iingay ni Angela, sinasabayan ang malakas na tugtog ng music at sinasalubong ang naghahampasang hangin. Siya kasama si Vanna ay nakatayo sa hulihang bahagi ng sasakyan habang si Hirayah at Coline naman ay ganoon din ang tayo sa kabilang sasakyan.

“Oh nabasa niyo 'yon!?” Angela suddenly shouted out of the blue, pointing her index finger at their back.

“Alin?” Vanna asked in confusion, glancing at the back, trying to trace what's with it.

“Anong meron?” Lloyd seconded.

“Nandito na tayo sa Halda Highway! Wait ibalik mo Alex!” Angela commanded, shaking Alex's shoulder, nonstop.

“Ha? Bakit?”

“Hindi puwedeng wala tayong picture do'n sa sign board na nagsasabing ang lugar na ito ay ang Halda Highway. Laesa-Mountain Province Road. Bilis na! Balik mo na,” she explained.

“Ok, ok. Kerinn balik daw,” Alex said, giving hand gestures at his older brother.

Iniliko ni Alex ang sasakyan at bumalik sa dinaanan kanina lamang. Habang si Kerinn na hindi pa tuluyang nalilinawan at naguguluhan pa rin ay wala ng nagawa kundi ang sumunod na lang sa kapatid.

“HALDA HIGHWAY. LAESA-MOUNTAIN PROVINCE ROAD.”

A click from a camera distracted Vanna who was reading what's written on the sign board out loud.

“Ano ba 'yan!” masungit na sigaw ni Vanna.

“Ayos na 'tong camera, puwesto na,” Ethan blurted out, positioning the camera on its right place.

They immediately arranged themselves. Alex with his girlfriend Jerlaine, positioned on the left side near the sign board. Vanna, Angela, Coline and Hirayah were kneeling down in the forefront. Then Lloyd were at the back, standing above the  big rock while pointing his right hand at the sign board. And lastly, Kerinn and Ethan were postured on the right side.

“3, 2, 1...” Ethan who was holding the small device connected to the camera counted and they began striking their poses.

After the picture taking, Angela immediately grabbed the camera.

“Ayos, may pang-post na sa Facebook and IG.”

“Huwag na huwag niyo akong i-ta-tag ah? Makikita 'yan ng parents ko. Takas lang ako, remember?” Vanna warned.

Lloyd, who's standing a few inches from Angela yanked the camera from her hand.

“Pa-send nito ha?” he said.

“Oh tara na,” Hirayah interrupted.

“Let's go,” Coline seconded and they then get back on the wrangler jeeps where they included.

“Ok, snacks and drinks in, music on, volume up, problems out. Engine start. Let's enjoy and ignore the world,” Alex said while doing the action so does Kerinn.

Nagsimula ng umandar ang sasakyan. And with their hands on the air, sabay sabay nilang sinabayan ang kantang tumutunog isama na ang kulitan at tawanan sa dalawang magkahiwalay na sasakyan.

A small curved formed at the edge of Angela's lips while staring at her friends. She knows how sad and stress this people whom she's with and seeing them enjoying this Road Trip making her happy. This excites her for what possible reaction or feelings of friends could be whenever she got the perfect timing and got friend's attention for that situation in her mind.
