Lay Me Down In Meadows
by sloanranger
Take my hand and walk with me as far as love allows,
Lay me down in meadows,
Soothe my fevered brow.
Warm me in the winter when I'm feeling cold
And nights when I am very shy,
Your love... make me bold.
Chase the sadness far from me if I feel defeat,
Whisper calming words to me
To cool me from the heat;
Take me in your arms, if I am afraid,
Take me to a place with you
Where no one else has lain.
Rest beneath the shadows of ancient, mystic trees,
Lay me down and take me -
where grasses graze our cheek.
Love me, oh, my darling as far as love allows,
Lay me down in meadows
Soothe my fevered brow.
