When they were just about to reach the entrance of the Cloud recess they saw two familiar figures. "Hey! Is that you guys?!" Sizhui waved to try and get their attention. The figures turned around and the one wear red and black waved back at them.
"A-Yuan*! How have you been?!" He shouted. SiZhui started running up to great them with Wen Ning close behind. He gave a big hug to both of them almost tiping them over.
*A-yuan: it's a friendly way saying Lan Yuan which is SiZhui's real name.*
Note: any name with 'A' in front of the last syllable is a friendly way of saying it
"Senior Wei, Hunguang-Jun you're back!" Sizhui exclaimed. Wen Ning bowed down at Wei Wuxian, while Jin ling and jingyi tried to catch up with them.
"Woah, Wen Ning you don't need to do that. Come on get up," Wei Wuxian grab his arm to help him up.
"Sorry it's a habit of mine," Wen Ning apologized.
"What are you guys doing here?" Jin Ling asked. He was gasping for air.
"Nothing really, we found and odd problem recently and we wanted to tell Zewu-Jun if he could help or let one of you guys do it,"
"Odd? If you guys can't do it how to you except one of us to?" Jingyi asked. "You're just lazy aren't you?"
"Well not odd, but and easy task that you guys might enjoy solving, right Hunguang-jun" He lightly gabbed Lan Wangji in the arm.
"Mn."
"So we thought it would be a good experience for guys." Wei Wuxian shrugged. Lan Wangji tied Little Apple's rein to the post near by the bunnies before SiZhui interrupted.
"Here," he took and apple out from his bag, "they were on sale and I go more than I needed."
"You can feed him," Lan WangJi moved over to give him some space. SiZhui took the apple and placed it in front of Little apple and he eagerly took the whole thing in his mouth.
"Oh can I?" Jingyi asked. SiZhui nodded and took another apple out. He split them in half so he could give one side to JingYi.
"Do you wanna feed him too?" SiZhui reached out to Jin Ling, waving the apple around. "It's a lot funner than you think."
Jin Ling snatched it with one go. "Fine," he said.
Wei Wuxian laughed at their fascination over little apple. "What are you? Children?" He teased.
"No," SiZhui answered.
"Do you even know how old you are?"
"I'm turning 19 in a week or so."
He stood up straight and patted his clothes flat. JingYi faced the three standing, "in the 12th right?" He asked but little apple took a bite off the apple which startled him.
"Yeah," SiZhui said.
"Aww, I guess I have to call you Lan-Gege* soon," Jin ling teased.
*Lan-Gege: big brother.*
SiZhui turned down the offer, "you don't have to. It's a bit weird to be honestly,"
"Let's head inside it's getting really late," Wei wuxian said. He tugged Lan Wangji's sleeve, "come on! I'm hungry."
Was they were walking SiZhui decided to speak up. "What is this odd problem exactly?"
"It might take a while to explain," Wei Wuxian said.
"Please continue we have a while to walk anyways," JingYi, Jin ling and Wen Ning followed behind them.
"There's a school other that the cloud recess here, it's owned by the Yang family."
"There was a school? For whom and why did we not know?" JingYi spoke. Lan WangJi glanced at him to stay quite, which made him jump.
"It's for the 'rich families'" Wei Wuxian exaggerated the word. "To teach their children of important information to help them survive when they grow up."
"Was their a problem with their teaching?"
"No there wasn't."
"Then what's the problem?"
"It's on of the items they used to teach them," at this the little group were confused. Their faces quickly turning to fear from assuming the worst.
"Um, Master Wei is it an item that would be," He paused, "humane?"
"Hahahahaha!" Wei WuXian started laughing smacking his forehead. Lan WangJi places an arm around him keeping him from falling. "Oh no no, it's not what you think it is."
"It's a book!" A breath of relief came from the crowd. "The book is called heaven bound, it's really interesting."
"How so?"
"Well, firstly it's can grant any wish As long as you write it down. It has no negative affects! Can you believe it?"
Jin ling shook his head, "Definitely not from you! There has to be some problem!"
"No, it's definitely true. All wishes written in there came true. The only side affect really was abuse of power. Exactly why they use it to teach."
"So what's the problem? Did someone take the book?" Asked Sizhui.
"Precisely!" They turned the corner to the Hanshi, Lan Xichen's room. "We're here!" Lan WangJi knocked on the door. "You guys can go now and let's see if he will give it to you guys," Wei WuXian shooed them off.
"Come in!" The voice inside yelled.
"Let's go," Jin ling walked the other direction. "It's getting boring here anyways."
"Jin Ling Wait!" Sizhui grabbed his arm. "Don't you wanna see if we can do it? It's going to be good experience!"
Jin ling pulled his arm away. "It's just a simple robbery. I doubt we'll do anything much." Sizhui turned to JingYi but he also shook his head.
"Yeah, to be honest it sounds simple just like Senior Wei said, 'just an odd problem,'" JingYi said. Wen Ning also nodded in agreement.
"Ok then," Sizhui sighed. "We should go to bed, see you guys tomorrow." He waved goodnight to his friend and headed back to his room.
Jin Ling headed back too. Although his trip was a lot longer and gave plenty of time for him to stroll.
"Pfft, a book? That's it?" He laughed to himself. "That shouldn't be a problem."
He walked around the road it was definitely the evening. The only light you could see was in the towns market. The people buzzed around and about buy food for their dinner. The smell and aroma quickly spread everywhere.
'I'm kinda hungry' Jin ling thought you himself. 'I really should get home early for dinner!' Near by he could hear a lady yelling behind him.
"Young man! Did you perhaps drop this book?" She was waving around a small blue book in her hand and a basket of pork buns in her other.
"Oh what book?" He turned around. She stopped when she reached him and took a moment to rest.
"This one," She handed it to him. It read 'Diary' on the cover. "I know it would be a very awkward if someone else took the book."
Jin ling pushed it back to her. "Sorry but this isn't mine."
"Well could you perhaps give it back to the rightful owner?" She pushed it back to him. "I've been really busy at the shop!"
"No, seriously I don't know who this could have belonged too." Again Jin Ling declined her offer.
"I'll give you a pork bun?" She suggested. Jin ling's hunger began to sink in.
"Ok fine," He took the book reluctantly. "But, I can't guarantee I'll find the owner!"
"It's okay I know you will!" She quickly handed him a bun which she wrapped in cloth for him.
"A-Xing! Did you return the book yet? We're getting busy!"
"Coming!" She called out. "Good luck!" A-Xing waved to him.
'Ha! Not gonna do it!' He took a bite of the pork buns. Curiosity he took the book in his arms and opened it. 'Diary? I would never name a diary, diary' he thought to himself.
"Dear diary, my wife is dangerous sick.." He read out loud to himself. 'Woah nice start!' He thought. The story continued.
"I wish I would've lived long with her! I will miss her so much. I've been such a bad person to her..."Jin Ling continued like this for a while.
Before he knew it, he was back home. He went back to his room and continued reading. When it came time to eat he could only think of the diary. The only light visible was a small candle next to his bed. He had already bathed and brushed his teeth for bed but he still refused to sleep.
"There was this one time I had put bugs in her hair..." Jin Ling laughed at this. "I came home late after work and I didn't bathe. Instead I went straight to bed. Without knowing it I had bugs on my clothing which crawled in her hair."
The night went on but he still didn't sleep. The alone sounds that were heard were crickets.
"She lived! I love her so much! I'll never forget this! Doctors say it's very likely for a full recovery! It was great news to everyone! My children are so happy too!" Jin ling smiled and set down the book. Happy with this ending, he fell asleep.-TO BE CONTINUED-
