I arrive home ready to be scolded yet again for forgetting something important. I swim slowly into the throne room to see my dad sitting on the throne glaring at me. "Hello dad" I cracked my award winning smile in hopes he falls in love with it.

"That smile doesn't work on me seokjin" he said continuing to glare. "Really? Then if I add these" I got closer and pulled a silly face and I swear dad was trying to not laugh. "Where was you?" He said... always straight to the point. "I was helping yoongi" I lied. "Your a terrible liar. Just like your mother was" he was still glaring at me im kinda scared.. I took in a deep breath and...

Grovelled! Yes I'm grovelling. "I'm sorry dad I totally forgot I promise I won't ever again" I said super fast. "How many times have you said that?" He said as he looked at me intensely frowning.

"Well... about 34 times I think... but hey we shouldn't be counting right" again I throw him my award wining smile.

"Seokjin you.. you are my eldest son. But yet you act like my youngest" he sighed whilst shaking his head.

"Keeping myself young-" I began to joke but was interrupted by dad hitting his triton onto the side of his thrown.

I jumped abit...well lot... as you could imagine.

"Mark... Jackson.. jaebeom are all younger then you.. and yes they are all married and settling down." He glared was intense.

Here we go again! He's going to compare me to my younger brothers.

"But you? You spend all of your time swimming about with your friends doing shellfish knows!" He took in a deep breath.

"I'm not like my brothers" I mumbled.

"No your not..." he snapped at me."Your the next in line for the throne" he snapped yet again. I could see the veins in his forehead. I closed my eyes and looked down. I really didn't want to be next in line. "Dad I-"

"no seokjin.. no... you need to get your act together! Next week. You will meet the princess of the northern sea who you shall marry" he got up of the throne.

MARRY! WHAT THE FUCK NO!

"Dad please" I pleaded. "No seokjin you will marry her and you will become a good husband....king" He left with out saying anything else. I stared at the throne.

Why did I have to be next in line? I have 7 brothers! I hate this! I dont want to be king!

"What did he say" I heard hobi say as he rushed in. "I'm to marry the princess of the northern sea" I sighed and sat down on dads throne. "Arg" he said shaking his head. "Yeah..." I felt.. empty. Why can't I be someone else?

"Do you think a princess on land would ever want a merman"shit i wasnt meant to say that out loud. "Why would a princess on land want a merman?" He asked me then laughed akwardly. "I wish I was a two leg" I got up off the throne. "Don't say that" Hobi shaked his head rapidly. "Up there is probably so much more interesting then down here." I swam off to my room. I didnt give him time to reply.

I went inside to see 4 of my brothers fast to sleep. I swam to my bed by the window. "Where was you?" I looked to see my brother jinyoung sitting up looking at me. "I was... I was at a ship wreck with yoongi" I could never lie to my brothers. "Seokjin!" He shaked his head. "I know.." I sighed and got into my bed. "You got to stop wandering off" he looked concerned.

"I just want to know more about the land dwellers" I mumbled. "All you need to know is they kill our kind" I heard from my other brother bambam. "I know I know" I took a deep breath.

"Remember what happened to mother." Bambam said and he rolled over to face away.

I sat there in silence left with my thoughts. I have always been so interested in the land dwellers. I shouldn't be thou... they are dangerous and aren't easy on us.

When I was younger they came and mother got caught in a net. that was the last time we saw her. We have no clue what happened to her.!

I should hate them! But I just want to know more.

I'm ashamed of myself.
