Chapter 11 - friends

I turn around trying to find Sarah but it looks like she wandered off while I was with JJ. 

I spot Kiara talking with a few adults and she looks like she is having the absolute worst time. "Hey Kie, sorry guys do you mind if I steal her from you" They nod and we walk away. "Thank's Summer. I don't know how much longer I could take those stuck ups" Kie thanks me.

 "Anytime" I smile. "so you finally gonna tell me what's going on between you and JJ," Kie asks. "You gonna tell me about you and Pope?" I ask back. " Touche"

"Okay well I may not know exactly what's happening between you two, but ever since you joined our friend group JJ smiles a lot more. I honestly have never seen him so happy so whatever you guys are doing keep it up" She says. 

"Quite frankly I'm not sure what we are either" I sigh. "like we flirt and act as if we're together, but we haven't you know DTR yet. I know we should, but we haven't had the opportunity you know with the Merchant, and the arrest." I continue. 

"Well do you want to be something more with him. You know more than just flirting and acting?" She asks.

Do I want more? Am I ready for something like that? A relationship. 

"I'm not sure" I sigh. "Well I suggest you talk to him about it, communication is key in every relationship romanticly and platonically," she advises me. "Alright, thanks Kie" I give her a quick hug. "Don't worry about it. Oh and no matter what happens, I'm team Jummer till I die" we both erupt in a fit of laughter. 

"I'll admit when JJ first brought you along with us I was skeptical, but now I'm glad he did. It's nice having a girlfriend again" She confesses. "Hey don't say that too loud Pope might here you and become jealous" I joke. "I'm happy I met you too Kie" I continue.

"Look, Look man I can walk myself. I got legs. Can you see that brother? I really appreciate what you did back there let me just walk out by myself." Kie and I both turn to see JJ being escorted out by security. Oh JJ what have you gotten yourself into now?

"Oh Mr. Dunleavy, I see you got your drink. Good, that's really nice of you. See I'm actually going to down that." JJ takes the glass off the table and downs it in seconds. 

"I really appreciate the discretion Darly, you know?... It's okay everybody! Do not panic. Leave it to the men and women in uniform huh! Let's hear it for them. Rose! You look like Lady liberty. It's good to see you again" I can't help but laugh at the scene he's causing. 

The guard starts to push him around a little more than I'm comfortable with.

"Hey muscle man, let go of him!" I shout over the deck drawing the attention of the party to myself. "You can't just boot him! I invited him here" Kie backs me up. "Yeah, she's a member of this club!" I add. JJ then shoves the guard away from him. 

"Hey, mandatory power hour at Rixon's, Kie" JJ points at her. "Princess I expect you there as well" He then shouts at me. "Pope you too" JJ now tells Pope. 

"Rixons Cove. Let's go. Alright, girls C'mon. Workers of the world reunite. Throw off those chains." JJ yells. 

 Kie and I look at each other thinking the same thing. We toss off our heels and make a run for it. She runs joining Pope and John B for a hug, while I launch myself into J arms as he spins me around. 

This feeling right now. This sense of adventure and risk. The hydrenalin rushing through my body. This is what I want every second to be like.

I want every second with him.

"Hey, guys. So like, my dad's already gonna kill me. So what's this mandatory meeting about?" Pope asks.
