Regret.

Guilt.

Grief.

The ones Ichimatsu feels the most.

Regret of hating his second eldest brother,

Guilt for hurting the blue clad; and

Grief for Karamatsu's loss.

And once again, the purple clad is stuck in a familiar scene. Deja vu .

He can't seem to accept the fact that the one he loved and hated the most is gone. Resting forever in the form of ashes.

Ichimatsu closed his eyes and wished to wake up from this nightmare. Horrible and painful nightmare...scary, of course.

And once he opened them, nothing changed.
This is the reality. The harsh and sad reality.

They were right.

'careful what you wish for'

If only he can turn back time, he wouldn't have said those words.

Those pathetic last words he said to his most precious Karamatsu nii-san.

One more thing they're right about..

'Regret is stronger than gratitude'

Ichimatsu stared at face of Karamatsu infront of him. He stared and lets his tears fall.

Because this time, the face he's staring at is unmoving. A picture of a brother he once had.
Below it is a jar filled with a once perfect body turned into its purest form. Ash.

The cat lover clearly remember the events from the past three days. He tried so hard to forget, but the face of his second eldest brother never left his mind. Karamatsu was lightly smiling. He seemed to accept his fate fast.

The fourth Matsuno couldn't take to look at his brother's pained expression anymore.

So he turned his back and walked away from his broken hearted brother.

The anxiety from when he woke up suddenly hit him again as his spine shivered from the sudden breeze causing him to  stop.

The rain and the churn in is stomach caused him not to notice the traffic lights turning red nor the fast running car headed his way.

Ichimatsu was pulled out of his trance when a strong push caused him to stumble and fall on the side of the street.

He blinked for a second before he realized what happened. He quickly turned his head to look at the space he was in seconds ago and saw a white car with a broken windshield.

His gut churned tighter as he slowly moved his head sideways to see an image that would haunt him forever.

The purple clad felt his feet push him to the direction of the lying body in the middle of the street.

"NII-SAN!" he cried as he cradled the fragile boy in his hands.

"Call the ambulance!" He shouted at the shocked driver of the white car causing the man to bring out his phone to make an emergency call.

Ichimatsu looked down at his brother's closing eyelids and he felt his heart crush into pieces when he realized that Karamatsu might die.

"No no no.. Why did you have to save me, nii-san?" he asked between sobs while caressing the older boy's face. The word 'nii-san' felt foreign? no.. it felt more like singing his once favorite song again.

" 'coz I- can't l-lose y- ou.." Karamatsu choked out before caughing out blood.

"Nii-san.. ho- hold on! Help is coming.. Please don't give up.. Don't..!" Now, the purple clad's sobs got louder when he saw his brother's unfocused  eyes.

"Nii-san?" he called and slowly placed his ears on Karamatsu's chest to search for a heartbeat.

It was there but not for long.

"Hold on okay, nii-san? "

At first he got no reply so he held his brother's hand. More sobs escaped his lips when he heard Karamatsu weakly spoke.

"I can't.. This is for the best"

"N-no... N- nii-san.. P-please don't close your eyes.." the moment he said that, Karamatsu's head fell limply on his side and the ambulace arrived.

They were too late tho.

"I'm so sorry, onii-san!" Ichimatsu cried and hugged his dead brother's picture.

"How can I live without you now?" he continued and cried louder.

"I'm sorry for not hearing you out"

But his words were unheard ... for Karamatsu is dead.
