Chapter 8

Me and Chad quickly pull away when we see Ryan. I swiftly turn my head towards Chad and back to Ryan. "Ryan I..." I start to say before he interrupts me.

       "No, don't even start with me Avery." Ryan says with a cold angered look in his eyes not only towards me but to Chad as well.

Ryan turns away and starts to walk down the stairs. I run to stop him but as soon as I put my hand on his shoulder, he shrugs me off. "Looks like we're even now. I'll call you later." He says to me and slams Chads front door shut.

I look at Chad as tears start to form in my eyes. "What the hell did he mean by that?" I ask Chad as I try to hold back my tears.

"I don't know, but I'm about to find out." Chad says with a pissed off look on his face. He runs downstairs and out the door to catch up to Ryan. As I watch him run out the door, I back up again the wall and sit down. I can't hold back my tears anymore and begin to cry.

Apparently Mike and Daniel heard the door slam and walk out of the room.

"Avery, what happened? Where's Chad?" Mike asks me sitting next to me putting his arm around me. Daniel takes a seat on the other side of me and I begin to tell them what all just happened.

(Chad's POV)

I run out my front door and catch Ryan just before he gets in his car.

"What the fuck did you mean by, we're even?" I ask stepping in front of him, preventing him from getting in his car.

"I meant exactly what I said Chad. Let me get in my damn car." He says trying to open the door but I stop him from doing so.

"No, tell me Ryan. Did you cheat on Avery?" I snap at him making him look me straight in the eyes.

"Just let me get in my car. I gotta go." He says trying to avoid my question as he reaches for the car door again.

"Answer me, damn it!" I say hitting his hand out of the way and stepping closer to him.

"Okay, okay. You fucking caught me." Ryan says letting out a sigh. "I did. That's the whole reason why I didn't break up with her just then because now, we're even." Ryan says looking up at me and back down at his shoes.

"How the hell could you do that to her, Ryan? She loves you, and you couldn't even appreciate her enough to be faithful." I explain to Ryan who had a rather blank look on his face, not showing too much emotion at all.

"You know what, she didn't want me to tell you this but I have no choice man. She's been suspicious that you've been cheating on her and she's been so tore up over it Ryan. She didn't tell you because she was afraid to." I say as a look of coldness comes over Ryan's face. He sits there a minute to collect his thoughts.

"So? What does it matter now. She was just in there making out with you. Like I said Chad, we're even. Now let me in my car." Ryan says trying to open the car door again.

"No Ryan, you guys aren't even. Because what just happened in there was my fault not Avery's. I'm the one who kissed her first, not her. If you should be pissed at anyone, it should be me right now." I look at Ryan. As soon as I said that, it's almost as if something clicked in his brain. He slowly backs up against his car and looks up at the sky.

"God, I'm such an asshole!" He screams, hitting his car. I didn't disagree with what he just said.

       "I have to go apologize, Chad. She probably fucking hates me." Ryan says rubbing his forehead.
