Yanking Out My Heart (A Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake Fan-Fiction)

Chapter 5

     Ryan apparently woke up before me because when I woke up, he was gone. I get up, walk out of the bedroom and into the kitchen discovering Ryan, who is cooking breakfast.

"Morning, beautiful." Ryan says smiling as I take a seat at the the bar area in front of him.

"Morning, handsome." I say and smile back at him. Ryan sets my plate of food down in front of me. "My favorite, pancakes." I say and dig in.

"Chad called me." Ryan says as he sits at the bar next to me. I stop chewing and look at Ryan.

"What did he say." I ask, forgetting about my mouth being full of food and remembering that Chad knows I have/had feelings for him.

Ryan chuckles, "He just called to apologize. I told him it's okay and we're good now. Just like any of our fights go." Ryan explains as he begins to eat.

"Is that all? H-He didn't say anything else?" I ask, finally able to swallow.

"Yes?" Ryan says in a curious tone. "Why, is there anything I should know about or he should've said." Ryan asks.

"No, I was just wondering." I say finishing my pancakes. Ryan looks at me and smiles. He stands up from the bar and takes his plate to the sink.

"Are you done?" He asks. I nod my head as he takes my plate.

I look down at my phone and see a text from Haley.

H: "I apologize about me and Chad... I promise it wasn't my fault. When you come home I'll tell you what happened."

A: "Haley it's okay you don't have to apologize, I'll be home in a little bit."

"Hey Ryan, can you run me home. I have some things I need to do." I ask.

"Sure babe, let me go get my shoes and phone." Ryan says as he runs to go get his things.

       After about 5 minutes, he comes back with his keys. "Ready?" He asks me.

       I jump up and walk out the door and to Ryan's car.

"I love you." I say as I kiss Ryan. He looks at me and smiles.

"I love you too." He says back. I get out of the car and go inside to find Haley sitting down watching TV.

She jumps up off the couch when I walk in. "Am I glad to see you." She says and hugs me.

"I can tell." I laugh as she pulls away.

"Listen, I've been wanting to tell you what happened between me and Chad. I think you'll feel a lot better if I told you." She says as I sit down on the couch. I get comfortable, expecting a long, long story.

"He showed up at the door drunk. I don't know how he even got our address. He asked where you were and I told him you went on a date with Ryan." She explains as she takes a sip of water.

"When I told him that he was kinda pissed. I asked him why he was pissed about that. He then went on to explain how he kinda had feelings for you but he didn't have the guts to tell you. That's when I kinda told him that you felt the same about him and that you didn't have the guts either." Haley says squinting her eyes preparing for me to get mad.

       "Haley I'm not mad. I already told Chad that me and Ryan are dating and that it's not going to work." I explain.

         "Wait, you and Ryan are dating now?!" Haley says overly excited. I nod my head and smile.
