Chapter 5

"(Y/N)-chan!! " Naruto waved you over to the table happily and you sat down. He was eating next to Hinata. She smiled at you shyly getting back to her food. 

"I feel like I haven't seen you in ages." he said. You giggled. "Sorry about that. I really wanna win this bet with Itachi-sensei." He nodded in understanding. "Yeah I know how you get. At least I haven't been alone. Hinata is really fun, she even helped me do my homework. She's awesome!!" He said grinning at her. 

You wore a half smile when you saw the redness in her cheeks. "I-It's r-really n-nothing." she stuttered out. You felt bad for her. Naruto was so clueless. 

"Poor girl."

When Sakura and Sasuke took a seat you gave them smiles. "Hi (Y/N)-chan." she greeted with a wide smile. You returned it. When your eyes landed on Sasuke you tilted your head.

"I guess he wears contacts too.." He gave you a weird look. "Has hanging out with Naruto so much finally rotted your brain. " you glared. "Shut up!!" both you and Naruto shouted. Hinata stood up to throw her trash away. She offered to take yours as well and you grinned. 

"Gee thanks!" she took it happily moving over to the bins. You focused back on the conversation at your table until you heard a crash from behind. You turned when you heard Hinata's voice.

"Gomen, gomen, gomen!!" She kept saying. A few guys circled her. When you saw the trays in her hand on the ground you started to assess the situation. One of the guys had a stain on his shirt. "What the hell, you better clean this! You think just because you come from a rich family you can do what you want. " The guy raised his hand to hit her and she closed her eyes. You jumped out of your seat. Before you could react, Naruto was in front of her. He grabbed the male's hand, stopping him. 

"She said sorry." he said in a deadly tone. You smirked, going over to back Naruto up. Like hell were you going to let them pick on Hinata just because she was shy. 

"N-Naruto-kun!" she said in surprise. The guy pulled his hand back with a glare. "What are you her boyfriend. She needs to learn respect. " At this point Sasuke and Sakura walked over. He had his hands in his pockets. 

"If anyone needs to learn respect it's you. " Sasuke quipped. The guy was obviously getting angry. "You guys are looking for a fight!!" He charged and a few of his friends followed suit. Naruto pushed Hinata behind him protectively and you jumped, delivering a kick to the first guy. Naruto took care of the other one, and Sasuke took out the last guy. All three males were now faced down on the floor. You dusted your hands.

"Looks like you're all bark, no bite. Pathetic." you mocked. He seethed on the floor, picking himself up and massaging his sore jaw. "Y-You better watch your back!!" he threatened running off scared. His friends followed behind. "Punks." you grumbled. Naruto was looking over Hinata.

"Hey are you okay! S-Sorry about that we have some real douchebags at this school." She shook her head. She looked like she was on the verge of tears. She grabbed unto his clothing burying her face in his chest. Naruto was stunned. He watched as her shoulders shook. His eyes softened patting her back soothingly. "It's alright, I won't let anything happen to you." you smiled at the scene. They really did look cute together.

You stretched your arms, leaning from side to side. You were thankful you didn't get a lecture about the uproar in the cafeteria. You had a feeling Tsunade didn't say much because this was the first fight you didn't actually start. And you had a sneaky feeling Hinata probably pleaded with her. You made your way down the streets on your way to Itachi's apartment. You weren't  paying much attention to your surroundings. 

When you turned down the empty street, you weren't expecting the hand that came out from behind, grabbing you by the mouth. You struggled, trying to let out a scream but someone struck you in the head. You're vision got blurry, eyes closing as you tumble forward.

Itachi sat at the table. His eyes kept moving from the clock to the door. "She's late.." he wasn't sure what to make of it. Usually you would text ahead if you got caught up in something. Yet there was no word from you. Not a peep. There was an unsettling feeling gathering in his stomach.
