Pete PoV

Things kept getting messier and messier every day. Just a few hours ago we learned that Mr Korn passed away.

This news shook the whole house, leaving Mr Khun a crying mess. As for Mr Kim, it's the first time we have seen him with his brothers.

He usually never comes home, even if he does Mr Khun always says that he's up to something. I wonder what is going on right now.

But aside from these, something bothers me more. If Mr Kun learns about this it will be a complete mess. And in this mess, Vegas might...

I don't want us to hold guns against each other. Not the fact that I'm afraid that he would shoot me. The fact that I won't be able to shoot him.

With these usual thoughts in my mind, I wandered off the main house just then Pol came running down the stairs.

"Pol, what's wrong?"

"Pete haven't you heard the news?! Mr Kun is planning to attack us. Mr Kinn warned us about it just now!"

Well, the thing I was afraid of the most is now happening to me. No, I have to prevent them. Even if not them I have to stop him...

I gathered my thoughts and finally decided to go and face Mr Kinn. Without wasting more time I instantly ran towards Mr Kinn's room.

The halls looked darker than before, it was almost suffocating. As I got closer to his door my heart began to beat faster. When I reached his door I almost felt like throwing up.

"Mr Kinn, can I come in? "

"Yes, Pete go ahead."

I turned the knob and entered the room. As usual, I expected him to be with Porsche but for some reason, he was sitting on the couch drinking alone.

"Mr Kinn I have a request... "

"This scene is quite familiar now, isn't it?"

"Yes, but this time I won't fail."

"You never failed me, Pete. It's not the same as before, you might not even be able to reach Vegas. So I'm afraid I can't–"

"Please, Mr Kinn!"

I bowed down. Right now I only wanted to face him. I knew Vegas, even though he doesn't care for me he still cried with me. Maybe if I can just talk it out with him, I can stop both sides from getting hurt.

"Ha... Alright, Pete. If this is your decision I won't be stopping you."

"Thank you, Mr Kinn."

I once more bowed down to him and quickly left his room. Maybe Vegas won't even see me, maybe he'll shoot me on the sight but I still want to try it.

I went outside the gate and took the family car with me. It was quite a long ride to reach his warehouse but along the ride, I got myself ready for every possible ending.

As I left the car the sight of the place I was imprisoned gave me shivers. So many things happened in this place where no one knows other than me and Vegas.

Entering the front yard, I realised that it was quite empty, with no bodyguards and no sight of any human. Maybe they emptied the house after my runaway?

I didn't waste my time and hurried inside. Just in case I held my gun tightly in my hand, in case someone would attack me. But still, no one was in sight.

I entered the kitchen slowly looking around to check everything. But then a detail catches my eye. The kitchen knife was on top of the cutting board. It still had the small green pieces on it which meant it was recently used.

"Whoever is there! Come out immediately!" I shouted. I held my gun tightly in my hand, ready to shoot.

"I'm here, Pete..."

Suddenly I felt a hard shock all over my body. It felt like every muscle burned out, leaving me with a limp body. My vision got blurrier with every passing second, finally, I fell on my back.

Just when I was expecting to hit the hard floor, a warm hand wrapped around my waist holding me in his embrace. I recognised that voice, his warm embrace immediately.

"Vegas..."
