"I can't. I promise him. I can't tell you. Just ask him. Get to know him. I know he won't tell you. But if you gain his trust, he'll be your friend."
She looks so lost. I think she really want to scream whatever that is out. She's stress out with her own promise. But in the other hand, she can't and won't betray her savior. I believe forth do it to safe her. Don't know from who or what.

Maybe... Those assholes did or try to did something to star? That's a possibility tho. Star is a pretty girl. And from I heard, those 3 are assholes. What're the chances!?

Star POV

Can I trust him? He seems like a good guy. But can I? Will forth let him in if he knows? I can't guarantee it. Forth, he's pretty private guy. And this thing, he intended to keep it forever.

He knows this secret killing me. Seeing him like this, for pretty long time, not something I'm willing to witness. But he's my best friend. And he help me, a lot.

I want the old forth back. But I promise him. It's hard.

Beam POV

"hey forth. May I sit here?" I decided to confront him when I see him on the court.
"sure. It's not my bench."
I look at him. He seems calm. Like cold person rather than hot headed person. No way he'll throw a punch to innocent or someone didn't do anything.

So I decided to ask.
"Forth. What really happen?"
He turn his head to me and frown.
"what do you mean?" he squinted his eyes.
"I know the rumours wasn't true. So what really happen?" I can feel my hands sweating and my legs shaking.
"what you heard?" am I hearing wrong? Will he tell me?

"you send someone or 3 in this case to hospital. I know that one is true. But why? You're not a violent person."

He snickers. "what make you so sure? I can punch you if I want to." he looks so serious now.

"really? Punch me then." I turn so I face him. I'm waiting. He smirk.
"see?! You can't. Because I didn't do anything wrong. So they provoked you!" I'm so happy right now. I almost get the answer.

"what you get if you know? It's not important for you right?" he stare at me, tilt his head in confusion.

"because...." should I say it? Can I? Do I brave enough? Fuck it!
"because I want to know more about you. I think you know that I like you" I avoid his eyes. Stared at my nails.

"it was school break. When it happens." I'm shock. Did he just start telling me?
"I just got back to town, after having my trip. There's a party. Senior party." I decided to listen, just listen. His voice really calming.

"all seniors and 2nd years are invited. So I come with my friends. They still my friends tho. And the host one of the seniors I send to hospital. It's big party in his house. Alcohol, food, music, you named it." he stop to take some breath.

"Star was there. And we say hi. And I went to backyard. It's pool party anyway." he clasp his hands.

"I don't drink. But everybody did. So it gets crazier."

e stare at me. I nod, agreeing him to continue.
"then, some of them trying to get a room. And you know how us, teenagers acted. It's chaos." he stops.

"I tried to find my friend, Jeep. Someone said he's upstairs. So, I went upstairs. There's 4 rooms. And I'm pretty sure all occupied by couples, until I heard a noise." I stop. He looked hesitate.

"tell him forth. I'm okay." that voice came from behind us. It's star's voice. We both startled.
"continue forth. I can he's sincere. He can keep that secret. I believe your decision." with that star walk away.

We both look at each other.
"I got her permission. So I'll continue." I nodded.
"I try to knock but no one answer. And I can heard girl's voice, muffled. So I kicked the door. And star was there. With 3 of them on top of her. They told me stay away, that wasn't my business. But of course I won't."

That's a lot to take.
"I take off my jumper and give it to star. Ask her to go home and don't tell anyone about it before I come." Forth stopped. He seems angry now. Maybe his memory of that day surface again.

"one of them punch me. Then I kinda lost my mind. I punched them, I kicked them. Jeep stop me. If not, probably they dead. So I runaway. Go to see star and explain to his parents. I called my parents too."

That's a lot. Too much. I can't believe someone really do that to girl. Damn!!!
"and our parents called their parents, my seniors. And we made an agreement. That no one will speak about it. Ever. I'll drop out. And they also won't sue because it's their fault. So it's a win win situation."

"wait!? You willing to take all the harsh words, gossips to protect them? They're assholes. They don't deserve your protection." I'm angry now.

He chuckles. "It's not them that I protect. It's star. And their parents. Their parents don't deserve the humiliation. And star doesn't too. It's easier to blame on hot blooded teenager like me. And no one will be humiliated. Good condition right?!" he smile at me.

"you sure are a martir." I shake my head don't understand how he can endure that much.

"she deserves it. She's a good girl. She will have good future. And those assholes know I have their secret so they'll behave. And their parents owe my parents. That's good right?" he smile again.

"so, now I know your secret, can we be friend? At least for now. I really want more." I smile at him. Showing my best smile. I hope he'll say yes.

After a while he look at me. Stare into my eyes, smile really wide, his gummy smile, and nod. One amazing nod that change my life.
