"You're lucky I tolerate you Richard." Stanley sighed as him and the iconic Trashmouth walked through the woods towards the losers hangout.
"Seriously though Stan where're those tits you were talking about?" Richie asked while looking around and up in the trees.
"They're birds you idiot." Stanley muttered, he was very focused on the hand drawn Great Tit etched onto the pages.
Then once they reached the hangout Stanley gasped, "Look Richie there it is!" Stan pointed upward towards one of the trees where the small bird was resting on a branch.
"Doesn't look like much of a 'Great Tit' to me." Richie looked up unamused.
"It's so fascinating isn't it?" Every time Stanley found a bird it's like he was stuck in another world. Just him and the birds, a wide smile starting to grow upon his face. But then their quiet moment was soon interrupted by a a loud screeching that came from behind them. The Great Tit quickly flew off in a quick distraught manner as the others appeared through the trees.
"OH MY GOD BEVERLY DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY DISEASES YOU CAN GET FROM THAT?!"
Stan sighed and both him and Richie looked at each other before looking back to their one and only hypochondriac. Eddie.
Beverly had gotten a stick with soggy moss at the end and was chasing Eddie around with it. Stan just rolled his eyes and went into the hideout so he could snag a spot before everyone else. Richie quickly followed, hoping to get the hammock before Stan did. He sprinted over while grabbing one of his favorite comics of the shelf. Richie stopped though and rushed back over to put his shoes by the door, one of Ben's new rules. Which he thought was ridiculous because most of the floor was still dirt but he respected it anyway.
As he was getting situated in the hammock and started to flip the pages in his comic, the others started to climb down the ladder.
"Oh come on Eddie, it was funny!" Beverly giggled
"No. No it wasn't Beaver-ly." Eddie frowned and stuck his tongue out at her.
"Hey that's my nickname." Richie interrupted from his once surprisingly quiet space by the hammock. Stan just watched from the corner and grabbed his can of shower caps."Guys. Shower caps." Stan opened the lid with a settle pop and everyone grabbed one, except Richie.
"Th-th-thanks Stan." Bill smiled and started to put one on his head. Stan blushed and just nodded. Him and Bill started a conversation in the back while Beverly lit a cigarette.Eddie had replaced the paddle ball with his own from home, he felt really bad after he had broken Ben's that one day. So on the way today he gave it to Ben, which seemed to make him happy.
"Yeah, screaming germaphobe over there scared away the bird I found today." Stan sighed looking over at Eddie."Don't worry Stan. I-I-I'll go with y-you to find a-a-another one." Bill smiled and set his hand on Stanley's knee. Stan blushed furiously and just nodded. "Ok, sounds good." In the meantime he decided to show Bill the birds he wanted to find next.
Richie peeked his head over the top of his comic for a minute to look around, seeing moments with his friends like this was his favorite. Though he'd probably never admit it that it made him happy. It was his own special supply of serotonin.
He watched as Ben's cheeks turned a light shade of pink as Beverly went on about something that had happened earlier that day. Mike in the swing reading a book called Moby Dick. Richie always remembered because it had the word 'dick' in it. Then there was Eddie, silently taking this time to organize the black fanny pack he wore. Richie couldn't help but stare at the short freckled face boy who smelled of cough syrups and medicine. How he had captivated Richie so hardly, he would never know.
