"But Mom I-"

"No Buts Richie, this could be an amazing opportunity for the both of you." Maggie argued as she locked the door and then turned towards the car. 

"But I don't need anymore friends, Stan and Bill are all I need." Richie argued back.

Maggie let out a small sigh and quickly motioned for him to get in the car. Richie obeyed and opened the door, throwing his backpack down by his feet.

"I know that making friends has always been a harder task for you Richie, and I don't want to force you to do anything you don't want to. I just thought it would be a good idea for you to try and make a new friend because this poor boy spends half his day in the nurses office over issues that aren't even important. So if you really don't want to then you don't have to." 

Richie was silent as his Mom started the car and drove off in the direction towards school. His Mom had been the school nurse ever since kindergarten. She was very well known and respected, even if her son could be a trouble maker sometimes. For the last few months she hadn't stopped talking about this one kid who always came to her office every other hour to take these pills that she described as 'Bullshit'. Maggie had noticed that the kid known as Eddie didn't have any friends to hang out with since the school year started. She thought that maybe her son could offer a branch of friendship and help him ease into the year but maybe she was wrong...

"What's his name again?" Richie questioned, his eyes trained on the two raindrops racing down the side of his window.

"Eddie, Eddie Kaspbrak."

"No way, isn't that crazy lady Sonia's kid?" Richie turned his attention back towards his Mom as she held back a laugh and shot him a look. 

"Be nice, Richard." Maggie scolded lightly and turned into the staff parking lot. Once they parked Richie made a last minuted decision as they started to get out of the car.

"I'll do it."

Maggie turned towards Richie in surprise and gave him a wide smile and walked around the car to give him a hug.
"Thank you so much Richie. This absolutely make his day, come by the office during lunch and I'll introduce you two."

Richie smiled in agreement and pulled away, waving his Mom goodbye before taking off towards his friends meeting place. 

"Hey Ladies, miss me?"

Two pairs of soft eyes turned towards the maker of the noise, small smiles growing across each of their faces.

"H-hey R-rrr-Richie." Bill greeted, his bright blue eyes shining at the sight of his best friend.

"Not really, the silence was nice." Stan replied and adjusted the books in his arms. 

"Oh yeah? How was the silence last night when you're Mom and I-" 

"Beep Beep Richie." Stan sputtered out, his eyes flicking towards the front doors of the school as the bell rung. The bustling group of three made their way towards their first class, complaining about all the work Mr. Brown was probably going to assign them.
