It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The sun was bright and warm and the wind sent a cool breeze ruffling Eddie's soft brow hair. Since it was such a beautiful day the group of rambunctious kids decided to hang out in one of their favorite spots. It was a high rise tree down by the quarry surrounded by soft grass.

The group was gathered in a circle discussing 13 year old things. Meanwhile, Richie was busy messing with a shiny beetle in the grass.

"Well hello there Mr. Beetle how are you today?" Richie laid down on his stomach and watched as it roamed through the grass. He poked at it with a little stick before he decided to snatch it up into his hands.

Richie looked up at everybody else in a casual conversation. Beverly was telling another weird and expressive rumor she heard going around town. She liked to use her hands a lot when she was telling a story. Ben always watched at her side, his eyes always sparkled with awe and love for the bright girl beside him. Stan was the one to never really paid attention. His eyes were always aimed towards the trees, looking for any kind of bird he hadn't checked off in his book yet. Lately Richie has noticed Bill's eyes straying from Beverly's bright smile and lingering on Stan's undeviating posture a little too long. Though Richie has also noticed Stan's eyes lingering on Bill a little bit longer than usual.

Mike always just laughed at Beverly's stories and shook his head. His bright smile shining brighter than the sun above them. Mike provided his logical and careful opinions as his calised fingers picked thoughtfully at the grass.

Then, there was Eddie. Eddie Kaspbrak. The bright, sporadic germ freak that they all loved dearly. His feather light hair softly glittering in the wind. His soft nimble fingers finding place in picking the wild flowers growing around them. Richie never seemed to get enough of the short red shorts that rode up his tan thighs and brightly colored shirts ten times to big for his fragile figure. And that stupid black fanny pack that always hung from his waist. Richie was sucked into a trance by this boy who spelled of cough syrup and lavender shampoo.

'Fuck.' Was all Richie could think as Eddie let out a heavenly giggle towards a joke Bill had made.

Suddenly Richie got a very mischievous idea that he knew Eddie would hate. He took is bright beetle friend and gently placed him on Eddie's petite shoulder. A few seconds later Eddie finally turned to look at his arm of which he felt tiny little legs tapping against his skin.

"HOLY SHIT GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!!" Eddie jumped onto his feet trying to wack the innocent beetle off his arm. Bill eventually got up and managed to convince Eddie that the beetle was gone and he could sit down again. Eddie immediately grabbed disinfectant wipes from his fanny pack, wiping down his arm. He looked over to catch Richie laying on the grass laughing his ass off.

"You asshole!" Eddie yelled and gently punched Richie in the side, attempting to get him to stop laughing. Richie sat up and wiped his eyes as his giggles slowly died down.

"That was fucking hilarious, you should have seen your face!" Richie grinned like an idiot as Eddie narrowed his eyes at the raven haired boy.

"You know what? Fuck it then you don't get to see." Eddie snatched up Richie's glasses from his face and set them atop his own head. Richie frowned and stared at Eddie through squinted eyes.

"I can still see dipwad you're just blurry." Richie scoffed reaching towards the teasing boy for his glasses back.

"Nope. You don't get them back." Eddie stood up and jumped over to the other side of the tree.
