Leaping forward with a fierce battle cry – or the fiercest battle cry he could manage at least – Lukas impaled his sword deep into the zombie. He felt relief surge through him when he ripped the sword out and the zombie collapsed to the sandy ground. The first five hits had bounced off of the buffed mob like it was made out of rubber. Lukas had honestly started to question whether his iron sword could kill one of those creatures or not.

Looking around for any more mobs that could attack, Lukas located Ivor. The older man looked just as breathless as him, his beady eyes dancing around anxiously.

Lukas shuddered, the dark night alight with all the pairs of glowing red eyes. After they had parted from Jesse, he had prayed it would only be minutes before everybody started waking up around them. Yet it felt like an eternity since Jesse disappeared into PAMA's core with the three water buckets.

"Louis!" Ivor called, the moment his eyes met Lukas. "It's been too long!"

"Do you think Jesse might need our help?" Lukas asked, anxiously casting a glance in the direction of the structure Jesse had disappeared into.

He really, really wanted to help his friend, but admittedly he was afraid. Jesse had proven to be the best at handling the chipped mobs, and had probably been the best candidate to venture into the mob invested core. Lukas wasn't sure if he could handle himself in there with his measly iron sword.

"She might." Ivor said, the two of them stopping at the entrance. "I still have a potion of speed left, at the least she should be able to use that!"

Lukas only nodded, although he couldn't tell by Ivor's tone of voice whether he was actually serious or saying it in a joking manner. He didn't exactly bother to ask, pushing his fears aside for a moment and taking the lead into the large building.

As Lukas had feared, it was pandemonium inside PAMA's core. There were mobs scattered about the place, zombies, skeletons and an uncomfortable amount of spiders. Water gushed down where the three processing towers used to be, but the heart itself wasn't in sight.

And neither was Jesse.

"What do we do?" Ivor called out over the noise that filled the structure, tossing Lukas a bewildered look.

"I, uh, we, maybe, um..." Lukas looked around anxiously, not knowing what to say. As much as he needed to focus on finding their friend and figuring out why she hadn't been able to deactivate PAMA yet, his panic was quickly rising at all the mobs heading their way.

"Ivor! Blonde guy! Over here!"

If Lukas hadn't been so utterly relieved to hear Harper's voice, he would have asked why the hell it was so difficult to remember his name. Too worried to mind at that moment, he only swung around in the direction the voice came from, searching desperately for Harper.

The older woman was waving at them from a hiding spot behind one of the processing towers. By the slightly dazed look in her eyes and the way she leaned on the tower, Lukas could tell she had been chipped. No doubt Jesse had probably been the one to free her.

"Harper!" Ivor exclaimed as he and Lukas skidded to a stop beside her, casting an anxious look back at all the mobs. "What's going on?!"

"Jesse sorted out the processing towers, but PAMA started withdrawing the redstone heart to save itself." Harper explained, gesturing to the middle of the room. "It's put her up against your other friend!"

"Wait, Petra?" Lukas asked, his blue eyes widening. "We need to get to Jesse now!"

"He's right." Even Ivor sounded panicked. "Jesse wouldn't hurt one of her friends if it killed her."
