Stiles-

Hours later and Liam was still lay on me, hugging me. The beta with anger issues really did have a soft spot sometimes. Even Derek was surprised at Liam's attitude. Nurses had tried to get him off of me several times, but he was reluctant. Nothing was moving him, ever. Not even Derek growling at him every time I winced in pain. From what I could tell, Liam wanted to stay close at all times.
'You're annoying, and it's weird but you're like that douche bag older brother I don't want to lose. Maybe even a dad figure. I don't know, I can't lose you.' I look at Derek and he sighs.
'I know what you mean. It's like Scott and Derek. Even though Scott's the Alpha now, Derek showed him how to do this stuff. They're like father and son sometimes. I think I'm more like a brother though, considering I actually like annoying you.' Laughing, Liam finally looks up, loosening his grip on me but not moving. His eyes were red and glossy, and it set something off inside of me. I just wanted to comfort him. 'You won't lose me without a fight, you know. You could probably feed me arsenic and id still put up a fight.'
'Arsenic?' He chuckled, confused
'Some people are still human. Wolfsbane doesn't have as much of an effect on me. Arsenic does.' I winced again, and Derek growled at Liam, causing Liam to growl back, louder. 'Guys. We're still in a hospital room. Calm down, or someone will hear your stupid werewolf asses.'
'He's hurting you.'
'Der, I have broken ribs, breathing hurts. It doesn't bother me. Really.'
'Well, it bothers me. You're hurt.'
'Derek Hale I swear to god-'
'Okay. I get it. Sorry.' I sigh and feel bad as he looked like a kicked puppy, so I grabbed his hand again. He wouldn't look up, so when Liam lay back down comfortably, I pulled him closer. I attempted to hug him to my side, and he smiled into my neck. 'I just don't like seeing you hurt.' He whispered, voice wavering as if he was going to cry.
'I wasn't trying to come off like I'm mad, I just don't want to see you two arguing like that.'
'I know. Just don't like that I was basically the cause.'
'No. Don't blame yourself. This was the guy who came speeding around a corner. Not you.' He nods and smiles as we both hear Liam snoring. 'Now why did that get you upset? All I did was say your name, really.' He shrugged and leaned back in the chair, his expression going back to his usual glare. Sighing, I tightened my grip on his hand, and he shook his head silently. Derek and his damn pride would be the death of me.
'I don't wanna talk about it. Are you still in pain? I can help.' I shake my head no, and he let go of my hand, standing up.

Slowly and gently, he pushed Liam to the side of me, so that he wasn't directly on top of my broken ribs, but was still close enough he wouldn't get too upset. Just as he did this, I noticed the claw marks on his waist as his shirt lifted. He caught my confused glance and immediately pulled his shirt down. He was definitely hiding something from me. They honestly never learn that I'm basically psychic about these things, do they?
'Why aren't you healing properly?' I ask, confused.
'Probably because I'm taking so much pain. I don't really know, maybe it's just because I'm stressed.' I sigh and grab his hand again, watching as his veins turned black when I sat up. A burning pain shot up my chest and back, but I ignored it. I tried to let go of him when I noticed he looked drained, but he gripped tighter and continued taking pain until Melissa came in and saw how he was hurting himself to do it. She immediately pulled my hand from his grip and placed a hand on his shoulder. At least somebody has common sense around here.
'Derek, honey, don't you think it's best you go home for a little? To rest?' She asked, getting a panicked but silent response back. 'Okay. You need rest though, how about I get you a two-seater chair and you can lay down that?' He shakes his head, trying to grab my hand again.
Although in pain, and having several broken bones, I turned to get out of my hospital bed, watching as Derek stared at me. I hadn't seen him this panicked since I found out he was a werewolf. Even then he wasn't panicked, he threatened me, actually.
'Derek, you need sleep. You look like you haven't slept in days.'
'I don't want to sleep here. I just want to stay until you go home. I'll sleep then.' He whispers. I shake my head and get him to sit back down and pull the chair right next to the bed. 'No. I'm not going to sleep.'
'I know. Just sit down. Relax. It's all I want you to do. Okay?' He nods and once I was back on my bed comfortably, I start running my fingers through his soft, black hair. Almost immediately, his body relaxed and his eyes fluttered shut. He was exhausted, and within minutes, soft snores were the only thing heard from him.
'How did you do that?' Melissa asks, smiling.
'I learned a few things whilst being here. He's not as stand-off-ish as he makes out. If he's tired, he easily falls to sleep if somebody's messing with his hair.' Melissa smiles and nods, starting to test my vitals again.

Finally, after three days in the hospital, I was allowed to leave under strict instructions that I don't do anything strenuous. I've also been advised against going to school for a week or two. Derek had acted like a personal guard the entire time, and Liam had only left my side when Theo carried him out of the hospital.
The rest of the pack had seemed to be going insane without me, so I was planning to go back to school a day after being released. Would I even be Stiles Stilinski if I actually listened to orders given to protect my safety?
'Derek. Get into bed. We have school tomorrow morning.' Derek looked at me, questioning my decision silently, but getting into bed beside me when I lay down. Maybe he'd get some sleep lay in a bed. I wasn't relying on it, but I sure was hopeful
