A/N: Ahh, I'm sorry about the updates being so late. I've been extremely tired lately and school is just stressful too. Other things in life have also been extremely stressful, family wise. I hope you can understand! I'll try my best to update as much as possible, I might be able to do more once summer vacation comes around!
I sighed, feeling the wind hitting my strands of (h/c) hair softly. I sat next to Ray, deciding to take a break from the second round of tag. I averted my eyes up towards the pastel blue sky, fluffy clouds gently crawling across it.
I began to lay my head against the rough bark of the tree, slowly bringing my eyes to a close.
Today is Conny's last day with us... isn't it?
I sure was gonna miss that little ball of sunshine. A sudden little nudge tugged me out of my thoughts, opening my eyes to meet Ray's.
He had his book placed on his lap, his raven hair styled in its usual spot. He narrowed his eyes before exhaling a bit through his nose, "she'll be in a better place, so don't worry."
I smiled playfully, poking his cheek, "Is someone worried about me?~"
His misty green eyes widened in surprise, as a soft hue of pink covered his cheeks in embarrassment; his mouth falling agape. All he could manage was a small grunt of disapproval.
I let out a snort of amusement and went back to staring at the sky, the smile changing into a normal one, "thanks, I appreciate your words. It's silly I've gotten so attached in such a small amount of time...but, she has such a kind heart."
I stole a glance at him as he quickly composed himself, returning to his normal state and gave a small nod, signaling to me he was all ears. I smiled at him, continuing our conversation for a while longer; random topics filling the holes as kids slowly came back from being caught.
Don let out a groan, frustrated at the fact he once again got caught. I smiled, closing my eyes before I felt a small tug. Both Phil and Conny were at my side.
"(Y/n)!"
I booped both of their noses, "how was tag?~"
Phil let out a small giggle as Conny snuggled up to me, "great!"
Emma came rolling in, a whine escaping her lips, "he tricked me again! How could Norman be so cruel!"
Ray held back a laugh, small snickers escaping his lips. Yuki pointed a teasing finger at her, " It's not Norman's fault you believe things so easily~"
Emma banged her fists against the ground in a playfully angry manner, "ahh, I'll never beat him!"
I held up a finger, "it's called strategy."
"HUh?"
Ray decided to scoot in closer, giving a slight nod, "that's what Norman has... and what you need to work on."
"He isn't the best in the spectrum of physical abilities like you, he's at a complete loss there. But, he always uses his head, not instinct. He thinks about his opponents next moves, and uses those against them in his new found plan."
Yuki lay on the ground next to Emma, drawing a square shape with his fingers, "think of it like chess, where you use your body to maximize all movement on the board."
Emma sweatdropped, "I don't think you're still talking about tag-"
"In Norman's mind, he's basically playing chess."
Norman plopped down next to Ray, "you could say that's what makes tag so fun~"
Ray raised an eyebrow towards Emma, as if to say, see?
