CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT:
DECISIONS AND GRADUATION

SHE KNOCKED ON HIS bedroom door before turning the knob and popping her head into his room. She found Jasper staring out into the forest with a clenched jaw, not even turning to acknowledge Luna's presence. She closed the door gently behind her before walking towards the middle of the room, stopping and crossing her arms over her stomach as she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth.

"Are you mad at me?" Luna's soft voice cracked the silence in the room. Jasper didn't answer her. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, alright? But, I knew that if I had, you wouldn't have let me leave."

"You're not wrong about that." Jasper muttered. He finally turned to look at her. "Do you know how reckless that was? What were you thinking!?"

"Jasper, I'm sorry-"

"I was so worried that something bad was going to happen, that you weren't going to come back home to me." Jasper cut her off. His worry was overriding his anger as he looked at her with desperate eyes. "You can't just leave and then not answer the phone. I thought. . . I thought of the worse possible out comes."

"I'm really sorry, Jasper. I'm sorry what I said to you on the phone, that was a low blow."

A small smile fell on the blonde's face as he walked up to her, cupping her face in his hands causing her to look up at him. "What you said was completely understandable. Let's just call it even."

A wide smile fell on her face before he leaned down to capture her lips with his. That was the fastest argument she had ever witnessed. She kissed him back before pulling away, a sudden thought appearing in her mind. She removed her arms from her stomach as she interlaced her hands with his. She bit her lip as she smiled at her thoughts. Jasper rose an eyebrow at her.

"I know I said I didn't want one, but. . . I think I want to have a wedding." Luna told him. Jasper was surprised by this.

"Are you sure? I don't want you to be uncomfortable without your family not being there and all." Jasper told her. Luna shrugged her shoulders.

"You all are my family now. And, I think I know the person that would be willing to walk me down the isle." Luna smiled at him. Jasper kissed the top of her head.

"Whatever you want, darlin'. Whatever you want."

"When we were five they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up, our answers were things like, astronaut, president or in my case a princess." Laughter fell all over the room before Jessica continued her speech. "When we were ten they asked us again we answered, rockstar, cowboy or in my case a gold medalist. But now that we've grown up they want a serious answer. Well, how about this, who the hell knows! This isn't the time to make hard, fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes, take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere, fall in love. . .a lot." When she said these words, Luna couldn't help but look over at Jasper who sent her a loving smile. "Major in philosophy, because there's no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind and change it again, because nothing's permanent. So make as many mistakes as you can, that way someday when they ask what we wanna be we won't have to guess, we'll know."

Everyone clapped for her speech. Luna looked at Bella, who had been sat beside of her and squeezed her hand. Bella smiled at her best friend as she squeezed back. When Luna went up, she couldn't help but smile when Charlie stood up for her. A proud smile covered his face as Bella followed right after Luna. When it was over, the two girls found Charlie.

"I'm so proud of you. Both of you." Charlie told them. Luna let out a small laugh before hugging her second father figure. When Luna pulled away, Charlie gave Bella a hug.

"I'll meet you in the car, Bells. I need to talk to Charlie for a second." Luna told Bella as they made it out to the parking lot. Bella nodded her head and headed towards her truck whilst Luna walked with Charlie to his police cruiser.

"What's up, Luna? Everything alright?" Charlie asked. Luna glanced over at the vampires, narrowing her eyes at them as they tried to listen to the conversation before Luna used her gift to block them out. She could see Rosalie and Jasper snickering with amusement before she turned back to face him.

"Yeah, I uh, I wanted to ask you something." Luna told him. Charlie nodded her head for her to continue. "Jasper asked me to marry him, and I said yes, but since you're the closest thing to a father figure I have. . . I was hoping you would give me away?"

Charlie couldn't help but smile. Luna was like a second daughter to him. They didn't interact much, but he still cared deeply for the girl. Especially after everything she had been through. He nodded his head at her before giving her a hug. "Of course, I would love to."

When they pulled away, Luna held a bright smile on her face as he opened the drivers side door to his car. Just before he got in, he turned to Luna who had started to walk away. "Oh, and Luna?" She turned to look at him. "I'm glad that you're happy."

Luna smiled as she nodded her head. "So am I." With that, she walked over towards Bella's truck, entering the passengers side as they made their way to the Cullen house hold.
