Unbeknown to the FBI and the local police department in Jersey, 20-year-old Bernadette Cummings had been missing for three consecutive days. Her mother Donna Cummings, had suspected her troubled daughter had run off with friends. Her disappearance not something out of the ordinary, completely within her character.
On Tuesday morning, When Bernadettes bed had been empty for two nights, Donna finally decided to contact authorities about her missing daughter - with the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and murder of two other local girls, her anxieties grew with every passing hour.
"It's not something she wouldn't do, she's—she's a troubled girl detective Dolan she has her demons." Donna told Grayson when a rookie police officers referred her to the senior detective who was working alongside local authorities.
"I'm sure you're daughter is with friends miss Cummings, as you said this has happened before and it totally within her character, but to be sure I'll put out a BOLO." Grayson sighed. "Despite my personal opinion."
"She has brown hair, hazel eyes, she has a scare just under her left eye from when she was 7— our dog nipped her." Miss Cummings explained. "5,3 shes on the shorter, much like myself."
"Is there anything else that would stand out about your daughter?" Grayson asked as he wrote everything down.
"Oh—she has a tattoo, a lavender sprig on collar bone, that's about it."
Police and FBI agent's alike had set up a major incident room. A major incident room is the priciest in the middle of a major investigation. It's walls lines with photos, evidentiary material, lists, and information regarding the crimes being investigated. It was where detectives gathered, where briefings were held - and somewhere Grayson kept thinking he'd see Y/n all day. But she never returned to work that day. Having slammed the signed and crumpled divorce papers into Grayson's chest earlier that same morning before miss Cummings stepped into the precinct to report her daughter missing.
"Ethan—Bro shes meant to be lead on this case, where the fuck is she!" Grayson slammed down the pile of files Ethan had brought up from forensics.
"She's probably upset, I mean Chloes a really talented actor you gotta admit." Ethan chuckled at his brothers situation. Chloe didn't mean to cause a scene, honestly she was just an incredible method actor. "But why was she here?"
"Oh she's insane Ethan! I went to one improve class a few weeks ago and we had dinner and maybe we even kissed I don't really care for details because it doesn't matter because this." Grayson pulled out the scrunched up divorce papers from his jacket. "This—is the only thing that's important to me." Ethan looked closely before noticing the signature.
"Holy shit—Y/n signed."
"Yeah because she thinks Chloes my girlfriend when she's actually just an acquaintance who's basically a nut job! Gosh it's likes shes—"
"Obsessed." Ethan laughed. "Dude good luck is all I have to say, you wanted the divorce in the first place remember? Maybe this is for the best?"
"It's what I thought I wanted mc-dork, just—at the time I didn't see shit clearly, I still love her man." Ethan didn't know exactly what to say. All he did was tap his brothers shoulder.
"I'm sure you'll work it out, I mean it's Y/n after all? She's a pretty cool chick when you know, she's not being such a Marcia."
