"Has to be connected Grayson, look at these bullet wounds. Precise, deliberate." Ethan pointed out as he took photos of the naked and dumped Bernadette. She wasn't far from the site Cassie Adams was found, however both girls where at least an hours drive across town from where Antoinette was dumped. Out of the three girls found brutally beat and ultimately murdered-- Antoinette seemed to be the only victim who suffered at the hands of her captor for the longest. Tortured the longest.
"He's changing his tactics—"
"But the death is still the same, she wouldn't have died from the bullet itself, the blood loss is what would have caused her untimely demise."
"He's draining them." Grayson sighed. "But why?"
"Wouldn't have a clue, that's your job bro I'm just forensics." Ethan chuckled before snapping another photo. "Bag and tag boys I'm done here." When Ethan rose from his crouched precision Grayson followed close behind. "How Y/n by the way?"
"Well, she's alive, that's the main thing."
"So you guys are like--getting back together or anything? You seemed pretty cut up when she signed the divorce papers." Ethan placed his camera back in its case, leaning back against the closed door of his car.
"I mean, we had this weird moment on her birthday where I kinda maybe--" Grayson groaned as he rubbed the back of his head. "Stayedthenight"
"You what?"
"Oh, she's my ex, not an alien." Grayson couldn't help but glare. "We kinda fucked-- I think? I don't even know what I'd call it anymore I think it was just a heat of the moment thing."
"Holy shit, you guys hooked up?"
"Why, why do I feel like I'm talking to an 18-year-old--" Grayson held the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Yes we hooked up Ethan and it doesn't matter because once again, we're back to square one because she's still hung up on the whole idea that I don't love her."
"Well do you."
"YES! Jesus Christ you know this Ethan, you know I fucked up!" Grayson gritted through his teeth. "Can we just--can we just work the case? My love life's in enough shambles as it is and I don't need you knowing all the damn details either."
"Fine by me it gives me a headache anyway." Ethan shook his head with a small smirk, as much as he loved his brother he'd never be able to wrap his head around the mess Grayson had created in his marriage. Ethan was a gentle creature, he believed in 'till death do us part', not 'until I decided my jobs more important than my wife'. "Ballistics come back yet with a report on the bullet that you know, rearranged Y/n's guts better than you did?" that was the last straw of the day Grayson could take--smacking Ethan across the head with a growl and a hard stair.
"Does it look like I'm in the joking mood, Ethan? Huh? I will not hesitate you clock you upside the head again, and no not yet but as soon as it does we can run an analysis against the bullets you and your teams of creepers pull from Bernadette and see if they were fired from the same gun, run it through the database and see if we come up with an owner." Grayson shoved at Ethan's shoulders as the older twin laughed slightly, he always knew just how to get under Grayson's skin.
"Don't forget to keep Y/n filled in on the case!" Ethan yelled as Grayson walked away with a clenched jaw back to his own car. "She's still lead!!"
"I DON'T HAVE TO DO JACK AND--I DONT CARE!!" Grayson countered as he hopped in his car. Slamming the door shut. Head once again leaning on the steering wheel.
