Safe, Not Safe

Since Janet was a crybaby and a scaredy cat, I couldn't go with the idea of fighting the zombies up front, I came up with another plan which felt less risky. I picked up a palm-sized stone and threw it far ahead of the zombies with full force, the stone hit a car window and broke it making a loud noise,  the zoms got attracted to the sound and ran towards it like crazy bulls. While the zoms ran off towards the car I gestured my friends to take a run and hide in a safer place. We ran as fast as we could and hid in the nearby house and locked the door. 

We already had enough of dealing with these crazy creatures so we checked the whole house just to make sure there are no zoms in there. We checked everywhere, ready to swing our weapons on anything that pops up. It's was a double story building,  we found nothing down here, so we went upstairs to check,  while searching the rooms,  I heard some growls from a room ahead of us, I stopped my friends and told them to listen carefully. We readied our weapons and cautiously moved towards the door, we carefully pushed it open a little and tried to peek what was making the noise. 

As soon as I peeked in I saw a lady, more like a zombie lady sitting beside the bed, handcuffed with the bed post and a dead man was lying on the other side of the room. I opened the door a little more to see if the man is infected too but he seemed like he shot himself in the head. I opened the door and got in to check on the man if he's still alive, nothing,  he was dead. The zombie lady got all excited to see us and tried to attack us,  thanks to the handcuffs she couldn't harm us.  We assumed that this lady must be the man's wife and he brought her here when she got bitten, but it was too late to save her so he handcuffed her to the bedpost and tried to kill her,  when he couldn't kill her because of his emotions he killed himself instead.. What a tragedy, I felt bad for the man and covered his body with a bedsheet. We let the zombie be tied up and didn't killed her. We went downstairs and searched anything we could find useful, to which we didn't found much just few packets of Cheetos, marshmallows, an axe and some really good knives

I tried to call my parents but they didn't picked up, knowing my mom,  she wakes up to even a slightest sound,  so I couldn't believe she was sleeping and couldn't hear the phone vibrating. I panicked and once again my head was filled with all kinds of crazy thoughts and I felt the need to go home and check on them.  I asked my friends to call their parents and see if they pick up,  but except from Rudy's dad none of our parents picked up the calls. I told them we should go home and check on our parents asap. Everyone agreed to it but there were still those zombies on the road and there was no way we can go by road on foot without getting killed. 

Phillip came up with a great idea,  he said we won't go by road, but instead we will go from inside the houses, jump over the fences and use them as shields, also on our way inside the houses we can look for something or anything that we find helpful or if we find food. Phillip's plan sounded plausible, so we all went along with it.  We carefully jumped over the fences making sure to not make any sound, we entered the houses carefully, but this time we didn't checked the whole house, just the kitchen and the storage room,  we didn't even looked for zombies in their bcoz it was too time consuming and we were all worried bout our parents. Rudy told his dad he will go to help Kaila and Stella, his dad is a sheriff and he told him to stay their so he will come and pick him and all of us up.  Our search in the houses for something useful was going just fine until..
