Angelina was infuriated when she saw George's name at the top of her phone screen. She had understood, of course, that he would need some time after Fred died, she couldn't imagine how hard that had been for him, but he had cut her off completely for nearly five years! Even if he didn't love her anymore, she would have preferred he at least called and told her that.
Still, she had made a name for herself, making it onto the Chudley Cannons as a Chaser. She had just gotten home from a grueling interview and slumped down on her couch, kicking off her heels. Just when she got comfortable, her phone rang. She sighed and ran her hands through her hair. She assumed the call was from her agent, wanting to talk to her about her options. She begrudgingly left her place on the couch and picked her phone up from the dining room table. Seeing who it was, she nearly dropped her phone.
So now he wants me? She thought furiously. Now that I made something of myself? Well, I'm not that desperate. I'm not going to go running back to him.
Angelina considered not answering her phone but picked up on the last ring.
"Hey, Angelina," she heard George say from the other line, sounding nervous.
"Do you want to explain first or should I just tell you off now?" Angelina hissed.
"What?" a seemingly confused George asked. "Why would you tell me off?" Angelina scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Seriously? Are men really that oblivious or are you just being an arsehole?"
"Angelina, I told you that I would need time! My brother died for God's sake!" Angelina's face burned with rage.
"Yeah, you did say that, but you haven't contacted me at all in one year! And how many girls have you had while 'mourning'?"
"Like you haven't been with anyone else since we left Hogwarts! Blimey, Angelina!"
"There's a difference!" she yelled, wishing he was there in person so she could slap him. "I gave up on you! You could have at least called to break things off if nothing else!"
George sighed.
"Okay, I get it," he said, "I'm sorry that was an arse move-"
"I'm not done!" she yelled, cutting him off. "I know why you called. You're trying to get me back now that I have money and people know who I am. Well, if I wasn't good enough for you then, you're not good enough for me now!" she was about to hang up the phone when George said something that piqued her interest.
"I need your help!" he shouted, trying to get it out before she inevitably hung up.
"With what?" she asked, indignant. "Money?"
"No, it's," he struggled to find the right words, "It's about Fred."
"Your brother?" She demanded an explanation."I-I can't explain it all now. Could you just meet me somewhere so we can talk?"
"Fine," she said, "But only because this seems important. As far as you and I go, it's over. Do you understand that?"
Sadly, he said, "If that's how it has to be."
"Okay. I get to choose where. I'll text you the details," she said.
"Bye.""Bye." Angelina hung up the phone and wondered what she was getting herself into.
