The next morning, Steve, Natasha, Scott, and Bruce gathered at the Compound. In the hangar, Luis' van sat in the middle, Bruce was behind the control panel with Natasha on his side. Scott walked in wearing his quantum suit from the last time he helped Hank Pym.
"Scott, fire up the, uh, van thing," Bruce said. Scott opened the backdoors of the van and the tunnel inside glowed. Steve walked into the room, "Breakers are set, emergency generators are on stand-by," He announced.
"Good, 'cause I don't want to lose Tiny here in the 1950s," Bruce mumbled. Scott snapped his head towards him, bewildered, "Excuse me?"
"He's kidding," Natasha assured him, she turned to Bruce, "You can't joke about something like that,"
"It, um, was jus-just a bad joke,"
"You were kidding, right?" Natasha whispered.
"I don't know, either this is all a joke or none of it is," Bruce turned to Scott, who now had his helmet on, and gave him a big smile and a thumbs-up, "We're ready. I'm gonna send you back a week, you'll walk around for an hour, then I'll bring you back in ten seconds, understood?"
Scott brushed him off, "Perfectly not confusing,"
"Good luck, Scott, you got this," Steve encouraged him.
"You're right, I do, Captain America," And he was sucked in.
The three waited, they were tense, and their hearts beat fast. "On the count of three," Bruce said. He flipped switches and pressed on keys and buttons using a pencil (because his fingers were too big), "One!" and Scott reappeared...as a teenager.
"Guys? Something doesn't feel right," Scott said.
"Is this Scott?" Natasha asked Bruce, who was trying to fix the problem.
"Yes, this is Scott!" and yet again he got sucked in then reappeared, this time as an old man, "Oh, my back!"
The three ex-Avengers were now starting to panic. When Scott came back the third time he was a baby.
"It's a baby," Steve said.
"It's Scott," Bruce retorted.
"As a baby,"
"He'll grow,"
"Bring Scott back,"
Bruce flipped a switch and baby Scott shrunk to nothing. "When I say kill the power, kill it!"
Natasha rushed to the power panel. "Kill it!" Bruce told her, pressing a key, and she turned the liver. Normal Scott stumbled out, "Somebody peed my pants, I don't know if it was baby-me or old-me. Or just me-me," Scott said. Everyone breathed out in relief.
Steve stepped out to get some fresh air after all that happened. He heard an engine roaring in the distance, then a black Audi came racing down in front of him. The window rolled down to reveal Tony.
"Why the long face?" Tony asked, stepped out of the car, "Let me guess, he turned into a baby,"
Steve gave a slight nod, "Amongst other things, yes. What are you doing here?"
"EPR paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you were pushing time through Lang. It's tricky. Dangerous. Someone should've cautioned you against it,"
"You did,"
"Oh, did I? Well then, thank god I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it," He held up the star-shaped capacitor. "A fully-functioning time-space GPS. I just want peace," He held up a peace sign, "Turns out, resentment is corrosive and I hate it,"
