Overall Jimin's rut passed by without any complications. Not that Taehyung had expected any. Jimin had always been so in control and mature. Even during his rut. They spent most of the time cuddled up in Jimin's bed.

At one point Taehyung had built Jimin a nest and the boy had spent most of that day in it, which meant Tae and Jungkook had gotten a bit of free time to do things for school and finally shower and stuff like that. The shower only to Jimin's discontent though.

It didn't take Taehyung long to accept the fact that Jimin had presented as an alpha either. Though for some reason it made him feel somewhat lonely. Apparently neither Jimin nor Jungkook were going to really need him to protect them anymore. It really did make him sad.

Although they had expected Jungkook to present sometime soon after Jimin that didn't end up happening. They made it through their entire senior year without any major events. Jimin was officially declared as a sub alpha, which was basically an alpha with less prominent alpha characteristics and features... and honestly, things were going well. Taehyung grew somewhat comfortable with the idea of his two best friends being alphas (even if Jungkook hadn't presented yet, it was becoming more and more obvious). The reason it had been so easy to accept in the end was because Jimin really hadn't changed. Although alphas seemed to react differently to him now. Mainly because now Jimin was that alpha who had a bunch of omega friends who trusted him. Something most of the other alphas couldn't say about themselves.

Anyways, Taehyung really grew accustomed to the thought that he was an alpha. He was okay with it. He was okay with it because it was Jimin and damn he loved him so much, no matter what his biology was. It changed absolutely nothing.

It wasn't until they got into college that Jungkook really started changing. Taehyung had thought the growth spurts he had gone through the year before had been intense, but it was even worse now that Jungkook had started going to the gym once a week. Slowly but surely it was really showing.

What also added onto it was that they were the new kids who hardly anyone knew, and most of the people Jungkook ran into would go out of their way to be nice to him because of how intimidating he could look when he was focusing. They had no idea that he was actually just thinking about what he wanted for dinner most of the time and enjoyed being cradled like a baby whenever he got the chance too.

That being said, Taehyung had gotten pretty good at ignoring how Jungkook looked. While it had been a shock at first because of how suddenly he had grown, now that a year had passed neither Jimin nor him even noticed anymore.

They had their small moments of realization, such as when Jungkook had visited the omega dorm once because they needed something from a friend of Jimin's and a girl had told them to leave because they were making some of the omegas nervous. While not quite prohibited alphas weren't quite welcome in the omega dorms either.

In moments like these Taehyung felt like Jungkook had already presented, so while he did forget what kind of an effect Jungkook seemed to have on others, just seeing the tiny, cute thing that had hidden behind the couch when they had last watched Insidious (Jimin and his damn horror movie addiction), he had somewhat come to terms with the fact that Jungkook was indeed going to be an alpha.

So when he received a message from Jimin in the morning, saying that Jungkook was going into his rut, it took him a minute to actually understand what was going on. When he did he quickly packed his things and drove right over to Jungkook's place, no questions asked. Jimin's rut had been one thing, because Jimin had his shit together and had probably done some research about what it meant to go into a rut. But Jungkook had always let them take care of everything for him, never actually doing anything on his own, which meant he needed their help. Also, Taehyung had read a lot about ruts for exact same reason, so he'd actually be able to help out.
