The sand is cold beneath their feet.

Yoongi breathes in the salty sea breeze, Namjoon joining beside him.

The shorter's eyes are closed with a soft smile on his face, the taller looking at him in awe.

He's never seen the other so happy and free before.

"It's beautiful here Yoongi," Namjoon says while digging his feet further into the cool sand, "how did you find it?"

He doesn't need to see Yoongi open his eyes-

He senses it from the other's movements beside him.

"I didn't," the shorter says before subconsciously inching his hands towards Namjoon's, "Su-Jin did."

The taller looks down before entwining their fingers together, tightly hand in hand.

"I'm ready."

Yoongi moves closer before resting his head on Namjoon's welcoming shoulder, sighing and fighting the urge to cry.

"Su-Jin and I were always close since childbirth. We grew up together and always had each other's backs. As we grew, Su-Jin was getting the attention of other people while I remained as shadow. I thought he would leave me-"

He takes a deep breath, "but he didn't. He stayed by me through elementary, middle, and until the last year of high school. Su-Jin didn't just stay by me as just my best friend throughout all those years- We became something more."

Yoongi feels Namjoon release his hands before pulling the shorter closer to him and rubbing the expanse of his back soothingly, "go on. I'm listening."

He nods at the taller's words before going on.

"His parents had passed away when we were in middle school, so all he had was his grandmother. She didn't really approve of our relationship, but she tolerated it because she wanted Su-Jin to be happy. We all wanted Su-Jin to be happy. He loved basketball and so we always played together. He made my life more tolerable and enjoyable."

Yoongi chuckles at the memory of Su-Jin accidentally hitting him with a basketball, worriedly checking him to make sure he was okay.

"Then it was that one night where everything changed. September 4th, 20**. He got in a car crash with some drunk rich guy. Su-Jin was injured really badly and the rich g-guy-"

Yoongi feels himself shaking in anger at the memory, "the rich guy barely had any scratches. He was telling his friend that it was Su-Jin's fault for the crash and it made me snap. Chang-Hoon- He's the one that made me hate rich people. He could've helped Su-Jin, and possibly even saved him- But he didn't want to waste his 'precious' money on some random stranger."

Everything goes silent except for the gentle roll of the waves against the sand.

Namjoon's arm is wrapped around him tightly, his fingers gently stroking Yoongi's shoulder.

"Namjoon..."

The taller hums while looking down at Yoongi, who looks up at him.

"I'm glad you're the person I finally trusted after so long."

There's tears in his eyes and he finally does it.

He cries.

He buries his face into Namjoon's shoulder, sobbing as the other wraps both of his arms around Yoongi's small figure.

"It's okay Yoongi," Namjoon says while placing a hand on top of the shorter's head, "I'll stay by your side."

Yoongi doesn't respond and the taller looks down, smiling at the other sleeping against him.

Namjoon sighs while carrying Yoongi in his arms and back into the car, pressing a quick kiss to his forehead before starting the engine.
