Patton awoke with a huff. He didn't feel like getting out of bed.

Sitting up, he looked at his arms. His hoodie was off since he started to overheat in the middle of the night. The scab on his left arm was doing ok.

He glanced to his door, hearing someone, most likely Virgil, walk to it. Just as he does so, a knock is heard at his door.

"Come in." He called.

Virgil opens the door and smiles, seeing Patton without a hoodie or jacket on.

"I see you're not wearing anything over your arm." He notes.

"Yeah, I just got a little hot last night." Patton shrugs.

"How much longer do you think you're gonna hide it? I understand you feel like people are gonna judge you, but it's worse to just hide it away, y'know? It's like with Roman. You gotta grow your confidence." Virgil sits next to Patton on his bed.

"I dunno. I feel like it's gonna be a while, but I could try to go out in public. I don't wanna cry though. It's always been hard for me to show people my arm.."

"I'll go with you if you wanna go outside. Just to make sure nothing happens to you."

"That's fine. But anyways, why did you come in here? What's up?"

"Oh, I just wanted to see how you were doing. I was just making sure you were holding up."

"Oh ok, that makes sense. Also, thanks I guess, haha. It's nice to know that someone cares."

"Aw, Pat. Of course I care. And plenty of other people do too."

"You sure?"

"One hundred percent."

"Alright.."

Patton glanced out his window, thinking on where he should go if he were to go outside.

The caffé maybe? Logan said he'd be working all week.

"Hey Virge. Do you wanna go to the caffé?" Patton asks.

"Sure, why not?" Virgil smiles. "When? Now?"

"I guess. If that's ok with you?" Patton picks up his hoodie that he left on the ground from last night and ties it around his shoulders just in case he would need to wear it later.

"Yeah." Virgil stands up and walks out the room with Patton following him.

They get their shoes on and Virgil opens the door. Patton looks unsurely at the outside area.

"Ok. Are we sure about this 'cause-" Virgil pushes Patton outside, causing him to cut off his own sentence. "I guess we are."

Patton anxiously walked forward and away from the safety of his house. Virgil walked beside him and watch as Patton tugged at the sleeves dangling off of his shoulders.

"Dude, it's fine. I'm right here." He stepped forward, waiting for Patton.

Patton stood perfectly still. He didn't expect this to be so nerve-racking.

"I swear, if I have to drag you the whole thirty minute walk, I'm gonna murder you." Virgil grabbed Pattons forearm and tugged gently, signaling to him that they needed to start moving.

Pat stumbled forward, not expecting the sudden action from his brother.

He walked farther and watched intently for people passing by. Just as he looked away, he heard a car pass by him.

Oh god. What if they just saw him and thought that he was super ugly and gross?

Why did Patton agree to this? This was a horrible idea! He should just turn back around and go home.
