A few days later, school was finally over, Danielle and I were finally free to do whatever they wanted. As we walked to the park, Danielle said, "Hey James, I have been thinking about what what you said, about this so called superhero, and you may be right, what if he is real?" I replied, "Oh what is the point? I tried to show my mom last night but she didn't see him. He was gone." But Danielle replied, No worries, there something we can do." she mentioned her dad having bought a new radio controlled car and that Danielle could use it as long as she was extremely careful with it. "Wow, that is so dope!" I exclaimed. "Listen, the last time I saw that guy, he landed in an open field near Willow Valley Park at sunset, we could use these items to catch a glimpse of him and show to everyone, said Danielle. she handeded me a list of what we needed to see him.  "Great idea, Danielle. I like your thinking."

After discussing our plan, we decided to carry it out at 11:00pm since both of us are allowed to stay up until 10:00pm.  Finally, at 10:30pm,we got out of their pajamas, put on fresh clothes, and packed up what they needed. Danielle packed up her dad's new rc car, while I packed up some duct tape and my 8mm camcorder I recieved on my birthday last year. Then we grabbed our bicycles and rode all the way to Willow Valley Park.  Luckily no one else was present, since the park was closed so no one could stop us. We crept to the information lodge and peeked through the window for any sign of security. There was none. We walked through the woods, pushing through shrubery when suddenly we heard a loud gust of wind. We slowly lifted our heads and to our astonisment, it was the superhero. I took out my fully charged camcorder and pushed the power and record buttons to try to film him but the superhero was too fast. "I've got an idea," I remarked . I pushed a red button on the camcorder to set it to night vision. "Do you still have your rc car?" Danielle reached into her backpack and she took it out. "Any duct tape?" She also showed it to me.

"Right, here's the plan; once we see that superhero, we'll tape the camcorder to the car and  we'll steer it behind him and see what he looks like. But we have to make sure he does not see it," I said. So me and Danielle kept pushing through the sharp, rough shrubery of the woods until we reached an open field with tall grass. We spotted someone familiar wearing a cape and standing out in the open as if he was stretching his arms and legs or trying to fly. Was this the superhero? "That has got to be him, James." We crept and hid into some small bushes. "Ok, tape my camcorder to your car and be careful, "I  replied  in a whisper. So Danielle taped the camcorder on the back tail of the car. "Now get your remote controller and slowly drive the car to him, I'll keep watching him." Danielle held the remote as cautiously as she could, and she steadily moved her thumbs on the sticks, trying to get as close as she could without scaring the superhero. The last thing we needed was our equipment getting destoried.

At last, the car was on the superhero. We could not see him as there were no lampposts and the telephone poles had no lights. But we were confident that we would see his actual apperance on my camcorder. While we stared the black sihouette of the superhero, Danielle and I hoped that he didn't hear or notice it.  We kept staring  when suddenly, as voice cried out, "HEY, WHO'S OUT THERE!?" Panicking, Danielle steered and drove her rc car and camcorder back to herself. I watched as the superhero flew off into the sky. "Danielle look!" I shouted as I pointed to the sky but he vanished. After shoving the car and camcorder into Danielle's backpack, she and I started running out the fields and back into pitch black woods as fast as we could. We also tried to avoid the flashlights that were waving from behind. We were finally out of the park but thoses voices were getting closer. We jumped into a ditch and crawled inside a disconnected sewer pipe. "I just hope it's not robbers or cops," I whispered. Danielle and I kept laying in the pipe, hoping who was chasing them would go away. Then we heard some cracking sticks and mulch above us and a flashlight ray shining down on the ground. We held our breaths and our hearts pounded as more flashlight rays kept gliding all over the ground. Danielle and I were careful not to make one little peep or stick out our hands in the way or we would expose ourselves.

"All right, there's no one here, back to your posts!," one man ordered. The flashlights shut off and the people who above us walked away. Danielle slitthered to the end of the sewer pipe to check if the whole area was clear.  "It looks pretty clear to me," assured Danielle. "Are you sure?" "Yeah." So Danielle and I slitthered out of the pipe like snakes and looked around for any sign of trouble. "Let's go." So we ran to bikes and pedaled away from the park and back to Poster Avenue.

We got back at 12:00am and were about to head back home to their houses when Danielle said, "Wait, about the video we filmed, shouldn'd we..." "Oh, yeah. Let's see it." We took out the camcorder from Danielle's backpack and turned to see the video of the superhero. When the video played, it was all on night vision, and there were scanlines but would they be able to see him? As the video kept playing, the car stopped on the superhero, and we saw him. But we coundn't make out his face of even his suit. "Well what does he look like?" After rewinding the video and even pausing and zooming in, I still couldn't see the superhero's face as it was a silhouette in the night vision. "I...I don't know. I can't see his face." "I thought you said the camcorder had night vision." "It does, it's supposed to show him. I don't know what is going on." But Danielle was unconvinced, "You look at yourself? That was probably just some random guy we stalked. Superheroes do not exist!" "How do you know that?" "Isn't it obvious? The way he's standing, the he's moving, anyone does that. I'm outta here." Danielle started to cross the street "Hey wait a minute, wait-" I called. But as Danielle was reached the middle of the crosswalk, "BEEP, BEEP!" a delivery truck came from behind with headlights bright as day"DANIELLE WATCH OUT!" I cried. But something halted the truck with loud CRASH and there was nothing there. Me and the truck driver ran out to Danielle. she was all right. Then the driver looked at his truck and saw the grille was very dented and damaged.  But these was no ordinary dents, these were in the shape of two handprints, about the size of an average male adult

While the driver talking with us, a police car showed up and a policeman told us, he was here to take us home. When we stepped into the car, me and Danielle knew that when we got home, we were going to be in serious trouble. The police car made it the Danielle's house where her parents were waiting and before she got out of the car, I said to her, "I'm sorry I dragged you this." "Me too." Danielle kissed me on the cheek and was escorted to the front porch of her house. I glanced at Danielle getting yelled and kissed at the same time, as the police car backed out of the driveway and proceeded to back to my house. I went to bed after having my camcorder taken away me, being grounded for the whole summer by my mom. I still believed that the superhero was still real and was maybe an introvert. But after all the trouble we put ourselves through, I decided to keep quiet about it and let everyone else find out themselves.
