chapter two

abby and betty were walking into the fair and soon caught sight of james and steve. she looked at what james was wearing, his new soldier uniform. 'guess he couldn't get enough of it' abby thought as she turned her head to steve, who looked small compared to james. stave was wearing a brown tuxedo and the pair started walking towards them.

"hey bucky!" a girl next to abby said. she and one of her friends ran over to the two. the girl who was with james had brunette, short, curled hair and looked absolutely stunning in her pink frilly dress. abby became jealous of the girls looks and then looked up to find james staring at her in shock. she blushed as she looked at her feet, clearly embarrassed.

while abby thought she looked ridiculous, james found her gorgeous. he looked at her mint green dress that cut off at the knees. the sleeves came over her shoulders and had a bow on the top. she wore black heels and a pearl necklace. her shimmering blonde hair fell just over her shoulder and cut off just over her waist. betty was dressed in a light blue polka dotted dress that went just below her knees and cut off on her shoulder blades. around her waist was a black belt tied into a bow, she wore light blue heels and braided her hair back.

the two girls walked to the boys, aware of everyone staring at them, and introduced themselves to one another. 

"i didn't know you were coming, abby." steve excitedly said, bucky still a a trance, abby started laughing as she explained. "betty wouldn't let me miss a chance to dress up for the world."

"guys, come on. we might miss the show!" betty grabbed abby. the two other girls, connie and daisy, ran over to the stage. all of the girls started started laughing until the music started. howard stark, the most famous millionaire scientist, was on a stage with a car and some girls. abby drifted off and saw steve walking away. she tried to follow him, but james caught her shoulder. 

"where do you think your going?" abby yelled out to steve, who was barley visible through the large crowd of people. james groaned and told her to stay put as he ran after steve, as her normally did.

"what happened to the boys?" connie and daisy asked worriedly.

"oh, they just had to do something really fast. they'll be back soon." betty reassured them. abby and betty were so close that they could practically read each other's minds. abby smiled at her quick witted friend and shot her a thumbs up. betty grinned and turned back to the show.

"meanwhile, look what i have!" abby took out four backstage passes to meet howard stark. she had been recruited by the scientific reserve so she'd grown to know the man. daisy and connie started screaming and ran over to meet their favorite star. betty and abby shrugged and laughed, following their new friends to meet howard.

"excuse me, you're not allowed here," a tall, burly security guard said.

"no need to worry, hank. there with me." howard stark told the man as he placed a hand on his shoulder. the two girls looked at betty and abby in disbelief. connie's jaw dropped as she looked between howard and abby. "you know him personally?" 

"yes, she does." howard said, a smirk on his face as he walked over towards the group. abby rolled her eyes as betty laughed. daisy and connie were beyond shocked learning this new information. 

"roll your eyes all you want, but we both know what you're here for." howard said as he suggestively wriggled his eyebrows. abby turned a light pink shade and scoffed at her associate's remark. betty laughed at abby's embarrassed reaction while the girls in front of them looked amazed at abby and howard's relationship.

"in your dreams, stark. i'm here to let you get to know my friends while i go do... anything else," abby said sassily and walked away with betty as howard started talking to daisy and connie. the two girls thanked abby on the way up and couldn't be happier with their current situation. 

betty started breaking out in playful laughter and nudged her best friend. "so you and howard, huh?"

"oh, shut up, betty." abby said as they both started laughing at the situation. abby stopped laughing when she saw james walking towards her and betty.

"what happened?" abby questioned.

"steve ran off to try to sign up for the army. again." james said slightly annoyed but proud of how much steve tried to do the right thing. 

"did he make it?" betty asked, interested. james shrugged his shoulders and said. "i don't know."

abby looked towards the building she saw james walk away from and tried to spot steve. she really hoped steve made it to the army. abby knew james didn't want steve to go to war because he might get hurt, but abby thought steve deserved a chance to prove himself, and betty agreed with her.

"well, we left the girls to meet howard stark so they should be backstage," abby stated.

"oh, okay," james said. he looked at he asked, awkwardly. "are you staying?" 

"maybe for a little while. we might try to find, steve," betty too him. abby nodded and they all stood there for a while before bucky left, "see you later then," bucky waved and the girls waved back. They started walking towards the building and tried to find steve.

"ouch! oh i'm so sorry!" betty said as she crashed into someone. looking down, she spotted her shorter friend and asked. "steve! what are you doing?"

steve shoved the file he was holding in abby's face and jumped up and down excitedly. 

"you got excepted!"abby said after she read the file.she embraced the smaller boy and jumped around with him.

"i knew you could do it, steve!" betty said to steve as she hugged him.

"anyway, we should get going," abby told steve as she looked at the leather watch on her wrist. "but we're really happy for you steve!" betty said as the girls waved goodbye and walked home.

well guys i hope you liked my second chapter!! i love abby and Howard's relationship, she doesn't like howard but still blushes 😂
