Nervousness was what Peril felt when she pacing her sleeping cave. Was she doing the right thing? She certainly loved Clay, with all her heart. But did he love her that way? Of course he did! Other wise he wouldn't have asked for me to be his partner! C'mon think Peril! You're going to a party to celebrate you two getting together, that's what I wanted. But...is it the right thing to do? Peril continued to pace the cave until she realised, that Clay loved her, he wanted to be hers alone. He wanted to grow old with her. And if the other dragons don't like it then so be it. So, Peril was done waiting, she looked out of her sleeping cave and walked down the hallway and into the entrance and flew to an island that was close to Jade Mountain where the party was at.

Clay's POV

Clay was waiting on the sand and staring at the sky, waiting for Peril to arrive. Was she having second thoughts? Maybe. It would be normal for her to have second thoughts. Clay just hopped that she wasn't going to leave him there and then tell him that she changed her mind. Then a rustle from behind him broke his thoughts. Clay turned around cautiously and slowly looked at what made the strange noise. Then out of the bushes, Turtle came, he was walking toward Clay. Turtle sat next to Clay and looked at the sea.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Turtle slightly smiled. "I've always thought that the ocean held many mysteries. That it was one big story for me to discover," Turtle looked at Clay.

"Yeah, it's gorgeous," Clay said. Turtle looked back at the ocean, then he sighed.

"Clay," Turtle said but didn't look at Clay. "Peril is doubting that she's good enough," Turtle told him. He finally looked at Clay, "That's why she's late."

"Not good enough?" Clay echoed.

"Not good enough for you," Turtle told Clay. "She thinks that because she killed a lot of dragons she's not good enough for you." Turtle sighed. "And the other dragons doubting her and telling her that she won't ever be loved doesn't help."

"But she is amazing!" Clay protested. "I get that dragons don't like her, but I do. Isn't that enough?" Clay asked desperately.

Turtle hesitated before saying, "If she comes, then you'll get your answer." Then he got up and went back to join the party. Clay was left at the beach staring at the sky, if Peril loved him she'll come, right? It was starting to get dark when he saw a dragon flapping it's way there. When it came closer Clay saw that the dragon had burning scales and amazing blue eyes. She landed with a thumb next to Clay. I guess she doesn't care what the other dragons think, Clay thought happily.

"Sorry, I'm late," Peril smiled. "I had to...do somethings." Clay smiled back and hugged her.

"So, I guess when we walk to the other side of the beach we'll be partners," Clay beamed. Peril looked at him and sighed happily.

"Yup," that was all Peril managed to say. She looked so happy that she was going to burst into a thousand flames. "You ready?" Peril asked Clay.

"Yes...you?" Clay wondered.

"Yes," Peril answered. Clay smiled and kissed her forehead. Then they walked in the party, everyone stopped doing what they were doing and looked at the newlyweds. Peril and Clay blushed when the crowd cheered. Tsunami and Riptide where by the chocolate fountain and Glory and Deathbringer where on the dance floor. Starflight and Fatespeaker where near the dance floor talking to each other and Turtle and Kinkajou where stuffing each other with food. Winter was sitting by himself in the corner of the party and Moon and Qibli were dancing. When the new couple walked on the dance floor, the musicians played, 'I choose you' by Alessia Cara. This was their song. When the song ended, Clay went to go get some food. As he got to the food tray, he got two cows and four ducks. Then he searched the room for Peril but didn't find her, this worried Clay, was she alright? Then he heard Turtle clear his throat, the whole room looked at him and Clay saw that Turtle looked nervous.

"Ahem," Turtle said. The party went dead quiet, "As you all know, it is Peril's and Clay's partner party." The room nodded then Turtle took a deep a breath and said, "Most of you, don't like Peril."

The party started to mummer. Clay didn't like how they nodded their heads at what Turtle said. As if they weren't ashamed to say that they hated Peril. "But..." Turtle trailed off. He looked down at the floor, he seemed to not like attention. Then Kinkajou wrapped her wings around Turtle and nodded her head. Turtle seemed to have more encouragement with this act, he took a deep breath and looked at the crowd with eyes as cold as winter. "But you don't know her."

"Of course we know her!" yelled a SkyWing. She had orange and red scales and orange eyes. She was about twenty years old and she looked full grown. "She is Peril of the SkyWings! She served Scarlet as if she was her daughter!" This made Clay growl, the dragons around him slowly stepped away from him.

Clay could tell that this action from the SkyWing made Turtle mad too. "No! She was practically her daughter!" Turtle yelled. "Peril was not raised like all of you!" Turtle protested. "She was raised by Scarlet! How do you think she'll act? Do you think she'll act nice and not kill dragons Scarlet tells her to kill? Peril never had motherly love, all she wanted was a type of love, it didn't matter who it was!

Two years ago, Peril and I had a fight-well, her and Winter-anyway, Winter said that I could serve my queen because I had powers. But Peril said, 'Wait, it's okay for his queen to use him as a weapon but it's the most unforgivable crime in the world for my queen to use me as one.' Then it hit the Jade Winglet, Peril just wanted to please her queen, her only mother that she had, the only dragon that loved her," Turtle told them with such dignity. Then there was silence among the room. "Peril is smart, funny, and weird," Turtle smiled. "So, if you got to know her, the you would know how she feels, she feels like she doesn't deserve anybody to love her. She thinks she doesn't deserve a second chance. She sometimes hates herself!" Turtle exclaimed. Clay looked at the burnt leaves on the left and decided to follow them.

"So, next time learn who they are before you judge them!" Turtle yelled. "T-that's it." Kinkajou hugged him.

"Do you need to lay down?" Kinkajou asked.

"Y-yes please," Turtle said before he passed out. Clay left the party and followed the burnt leaves to the other side of the beach. There he saw Peril lying on the sandy floor. She was crying, Clay rushed to her and laid down next to her.

"P-peril, what happened?" Clay asked gently. Peril didn't respond then the crying stopped.

"T-there was dragon and she said I don't deserve you," Peril whispered. "And I don't. You're good all the way, not just in fragments." Clay cupped her face with his talons.

"Peril, I'm not good all the way either," Clay whispered back. "Last weak, I yelled at a student because Tsunami wasn't being fair with Sunny that evening. I had to say sorry, obviously."

"But you never killed anyone," Peril sighed.

"No, I didn't. But everyone makes mistakes, even if they repeat the mistakes," Clay advised. "No one is good all the way." Clay told her. He wrapped his wings around her. "Peril, don't you ever say you don't deserve me, or anything, you are amazing, you did do bad stuff, but you don't do that stuff anymore."

Peril nodded her head, maybe Clay was right. "I'm going to go get Moon so I can tell her that we'll be off, and your friend," Clay informed Peril. "Turtle, he stood up for you, he's a good friend." Then he left. Clay told Moon that Peril and him where going to go to their new home. When he went back he saw that Peril was there and she was ready to go. They took off into the sky and they went to their new home.

"Thank you Clay," Peril smiled.

"Your Welcome," Clay smiled back.
