My head was pounding. I wasn't sure where I was. I looked around and saw Rex sleeping on the ground.
My throat felt hot and heavy. I rushed to the trash can across the garage, almost stepping on Rex. I hurled three times.
“You alright?” Rex placed a hand on my shoulder.
“Not really. I could use some water or something.”
“Let's go in.”
I followed him to the kitchen.
My brain finally started to kick in and I realized I was at Darrell's house.
I sat down at the table. Rex handed me a glass of water and a slice of pizza. He put on a pot of coffee.
“Do you remember anything from last night?”
“Not much, I remember taking shots with Darrell and Victoria was being really friendly. Darrell played his guitar for us. Oh, and then.” I looked at Rex. “We kissed. I'm sorry for throwing myself on you like that.”
He smiled, “Oh, it's really no problem.”
I gave him a shove, “Shut up.”
“What's going on in here?” Vinnie opened the fridge.
“Trying to help party girl feel better.”
“So you partied too hard last night?”
“Yeah, I'm feeling it today.”
“Better get used to it. If you keep hangin' with us you'll be partying a lot,” Vinnie said.
Mad woke up at one. She was slightly out of it but insisted on going to my house.
When we arrived at my house she ran straight to the phone to call her dad. Victoria could barely walk straight, so I sat her on the couch and gave her coffee. I ran to take a shower.
The song Paranoid popped into my head, so I started singing. I didn't think they would be able to hear me from downstairs.
As I was finishing with my shower I heard a loud fall. I ripped the shower curtain back enough, so I could see. Victoria was on the floor and Mad was standing in the doorway looking shocked.
“What are you doing in here!?”
“We heard you singing. You're great!” Mad replied.
“Get out.”
Mad pulled Victoria to her feet and shut the door.
I went to the kitchen, they were in the living room.
“Sorry for coming in. But why didn't you tell me you could sing?” Mad asked.
“Most people don't know I can.”
“Well damn if I had pipes like that I'd be singing constantly,” Victoria blurted out.
“It looks like we have ourselves a band,” Mad had a big smile across her face.
“I never said I was in, I've never even heard y'all play.”
“I'll just pick all of you up, and we can play at my house tomorrow.”
“Also, I never agreed to sing.”
“Try it tomorrow. It's just us.”
