Pickin' up the firewood, just pickin' up some firewood, pickin' up, pickin' up~
Sam hummed to himself as he gathered pieces of firewood. He didn't notice the sky growing dark and clouds forming into a circle. Winds howled and lightning crackled. He looked up and saw the clouds forming a circle.
He dropped all the firewood and started running..
"AHHHH!!"
..when something heavy pinned him down.
Sam groaned and tried to remove the heavy thing on top of him which strangely groaned as well. He pushed it with all his might and stood up. In front of him was another boy. Shocked, he picked up a stick and tried to poke it. The boy groaned and sat down.
Shivers ran down Sam's spine. "W..Witch! You're a witch!! WITCH CRAFT!!!" He stared running away.
Toby realized what had happened and ran after Sam. "No! Wait! Stop!" Toby ran faster and faster until he reached Sam. Sam looked at him before tripping an overgrown root of a tree. Toby pinned him down and covered his mouth. Sam kicked and thrashed all over but Toby wouldn't budge because he's heavier. "Shh, shh! Shut up already! I'm no witch but I am from the future." This caused Sam to panic even more. "Witch! Witch!" his muffled screams can be heard. Toby groaned and picked up a nearby rock. "Sorry, kid." he hit him with it.

Sam heard fire crackling as he slowly opened his eyes and sat down. He rubbed his forehead. It was throbbing. "Hey," Toby sat opposite him. Sam jumped and moved back. "Witch!"
"Knock it off already, I'm not a witch. I'm not gonna hurt you, okay?" Toby tossed a piece of bread. "Here, you must be hungry."
Sam picked up the bread and studied it. "Are you gonna turn me into a frog?"
Toby rolled his eyes. "Eat. I can practically hear your stomach grumbling." And it did, so Sam decided to eat it anyways. "There's more where that came from," Toby tossed a bag at him.
Sam opened the bag "Oh wow, cheese! Apple! Chicken! My ma couldn't afford any of these! Where'd you get it?"
"Let's just say I bought it somewhere else, alright?" Toby munched his apple. "I'm Toby, by the way." He reached out his hand.
Sam looked at it and reluctantly shook his hand. "S-Sam." "So-so, are you really f-from.."
"The future, yup."
"But how did you get here?"
"Well my dad built this device that allowed me through walk through space and time..." Sam stared at him. "I can travel through time" He showed the necklace.
"Woah, cool, your dad made this...wait. Dad. Mom!" Sam jumped up. "Oh my gosh I completely forgot about them! The firewood! I have to go home!"
"Don't worry about it," Tony assured him, "To them, no time has passed,"
Sam looked at him. "You're crazy, you know that?! Crazy!" He picked up the firewood and exited the cave.
**********
"Mom! Mom!" Sam ran towards their hut. Her mother is preparing the ingredients for their food. "I'm sorry I took so long. A lot has happened." "What do you mean, Samuel?" her mom's eyebrows raised. "You weren't that long, sweetie."
"Actually, I helped him out, ma'am." Toby emerged behind him. "I guess he got scared of me and ran off. I'm Toby, by the way."
"Well, pleased to meet you Toby," Sam's mom replied. "But please, call me Caroline. Would you like to join us for lunch?"
"LUNCH?!" Sam looked at his mom, then at Toby. "What? Really? Asdfghjkl.." then passed out. Caroline started to panic. "Sam, Sammy! Are you alright, sweetie?!"
**********
"Psst, psst, Sam. Sam wake up. It's dinner, supper time, whatever. Sam. SAM. SAAAM!!" Sam felt a gentle shake, then a shove back and forth. Sam woke up with a start and got up in bed. He was just about to open his mouth when he saw Toby, but Toby was faster and tackled him against the wall, covering his mouth again. Sam tried to speak, but all can Toby hear are muffled sounds.
"Listen, you" he said, "Don't you even dare tell your family who I really am. If you do," he bought out a knife, "I'll slit your throat!" Sam's eyes widen and fiercely shook his head in agreement. Satisfied, Toby let go of him.
"Are those MY clothes?!" Sam pointed at Toby's outfit.
"Yeah," Toby looked down on his ragged form, "Sorry, I don't have extra clothes tho. Ugh, this thing is so uncomfortable. What is it made of, sandpaper?" He scratched his back, then his chest.
"Those are my favorite clothes," Sam said, teary-eyed.
"Uhm, these are your only clothes." Toby remarked.

After formal introduction of who's and what's everyone sat down for supper. "So, Toby, where are you from?" Caroline asked. Toby sat next to Sam, and across from them are Sam's parents. Toby perked up.
"Oh, I uhm," Come on, history class; don't fail me now, Toby thought as his mind sifted his thoughts. Aha! "Uhm, not really sure, because we travel a lot."
"Really now? What do your parents do for a living?"
"W-we're traders. We travel from village to village trading things to people."
"Ohh, what kind of things?" "Uhm tools like hoes, axes, everyday things."
"What are you doing here then?"
"I wondered off and got lost. Now I'm here."
"Ahhh" they nodded in agreement.
"Liar," Sam muttered. Toby kicked him in the shins. "OW! Hey what was that for?!"
"Sam, what's wrong?" Toby glared at him.
"O-oh nothing, nothing." "Just some future psycho threatening to kill me, that's what."
**********
"Oh, Toby, since you're parents won't be back anytime soon, would you like to stay the night here?" Caroline asked.
Toby smiled, "I'd love to, Caroline. Thank you." Sam pulled a shock face at Toby.
"Well, since that's settled, you'll be sleeping next to Sam."
"Can I excuse Toby for a minute, mom?" Caroline nodded and proceeded to washing the dishes. Sam literally dragged Toby out of the house.
"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!" Sam angrily whispered.
"What?" Toby teased. "Your mom asked me, okay? Its kinda rude to turn her down."
Sam paced back and forth. "Alright, alright, you can stay for the night but you'll be leaving FIRST THING TOMORROW!"
"I can't remember? My time machine broke, so I have to fix it. It might take me a day or two.. and without the right equipment, I might not be able to make it in time so..we'll see. Goodnight." Toby quickly entered the hut.
Sam stomped and let out a scream of frustration. "GGGRRRR! THAT FREAK!"
