Dreams

Sweet dreams, my little one, sweet dreams.

Drift off to your wonderland,

where mermaids, pirates, and stars go free.

Go to a safe place where you can stand

and not fall down

in the rocky sand.

Wear a gown, have a crown

play in a beautiful rainbow,

fly on wings of dancing leaves

or shoot with arrow and bow.

Watch as the basket girl weaves,

doing everything so intricately.

Look at the peacock, feathers softer than silk,

or the little baby, sweetly drinking milk.

And, as everything begins to fade,

say a quiet goodbye to the trees and wade

across the river to reality,

as the dream ends in finality.
