They walked down the street of the city, with Geeree holding a bag of powdered donuts from Opal.
"So, what's the name of this city anyways?" Josephine asked.
"Brrogeni." Geeree replied, his words slightly muffled since he had taken a large bite of a powdered donut.
"It seems kind of... crowded." Josephine said, moving out of the way as a extremely fat alienish creature gave her a rather rough shove out of the way.
"Ggtubv xovrr stabp, raegk!" It spat at Josephine, a scowl on its fat, ugly face.
"Hey!" Josephine said.
"GIX!" Geeree yelled.
The alien turned to face Geeree, a scowl on its face.
"Gvgtu eo xov ggotu?" it said.
"Eoa'tu oab g lmik! scgi ezie behotga grroaea!" Geeree said.
The alien stepped up to Geeree, and shoved him down.
It laughed, seeing the angered look on Geeree's face.
"Mepe xovrr ovscepefsc." It said, a smirk on its face.
Geeree stood up.
"Rgtu!"
Josephine didn't know what Geeree said, but it was enough to drive the alien into a fury, which caused it to chase them down the streets, spitting what Josephine would estimate to be swear words at them.
"Well, you've really messed everything up!" Josephine said to Geeree as they hid in an alley.
"Are you kidding? I was just defending you!" Geeree said.
"Well, that was kind of you, but now-"
The alien had found them and was no stalking towards them, holding what appeared to be a gun of some kind in its hand, and a scowl on its face.
"Run!" Josephine said.
"We can't, The alley wall is too high to climb over!"
Josephine picked up a large rock.
"Well, can you figure out how to get us out of here?!"
"No, I can't- Wait, yes I can!"
"Alright, what is it?"
"Grab my hand."
Josephine quickly grabbed Geeree's hand as tightly as possible, and Geeree quickly grabbed her other hand.
And then, Geeree's bat wings stretched out, and at a speed Josephine thought only airplanes could go at, he took off, pulling them both far into the air.
"This is awesome! I never get to fly anymore!" Geeree yelled.
"Get us down somewhere safe, you idiot!" Josephine screamed.
"Ok, ok."
Geeree flew them to another part of the city, far away from the alien.
He quickly flew down, in the middle of a market area, and set Josephine down.
"That was fun!" Geeree said.
"You idiot! That alien nearly killed us!"
"Yeah, but he didn't get to because of me."
"Whatever. You should just be more careful."
"So, I guess we're supposed to go to the east then, to get to the hole?"
"Yeah." Geeree said.
"Well what direction is east?"
"I don't know. Let's ask."
Geeree walked up to a man who had entirely blue skin.
"Mzistmi, do you what direction east is?" Geeree asked.
The blue man shook his head.
Josephine walked up to a woman with nut brown skin, oily black hair, and black feathery wings, and tapped her on the arm.
"Mzias?" She said.
"Xef?" The woman answered.
"Uh... Do you know what direction east is in, Mzias?"
The woman raised her arm, and pointed.
"This way, little eazirroo." she said, a faint smile on her face.
"Thank you Mzias." Josephine said,
"Come on Geeree, east is this way!"
So Josephine and Geeree set off in that direction.
"So, Is there a way to get to the eastern lands without having to walk the whole way there?" Josephine asked.
"Yes. It's called the Sczioomunmi." Geeree replied.
"Come on. I'll show you." He said.
Geeree led Josephine to a stall in the market.
"The Sczioomunmi." He said.
the Sczioomunmi was a large, wooden cart, with benches in it. It was hitched to two strange scaly horse like creatures.
"This is how we get to the eastern lands?"
"Yep."
"It looks a bit weird."
"Well, it's either this, or we can walk."
"Alright, fair enough."
So they got into the wooden cart.
There were only a few other people on the cart, most looking extremely strange.
"So don't we have to pay to take this thing?" Josephine asked Geeree.
"No it's a free mode of transportation. It's for people who are poor, or outlaws and need to get away."
"Hitchah!" The driver called, goading the horse creatures, and the Sczioomunmi started off.
Geeree turned to Josephine and smiled.
"This should be fun." Geeree said.
Josephine wasn't too sure.
