CHAPTER O5;
CONFRONTATION

                                               SHE FELT SLIGHTLY NUMB, her body frozen and her mind unable to comprehend what had occurred just moments ago. It wasn't natural, it wasn't possible and yet, it wasn't the first time she had seen it. No human had that much strength, yet she was as human as he was, and both had an incredible amount of it. While she didn't understand her ability—not that she had ever attempted to do so—it seemed he knew what he was, she saw it in his golden eyes. They had been wide-eyed, perhaps shocked that he had revealed himself but maybe beyond so when she had yelled for him to leave the scene.

The minute the word left her mouth, he stood from his crouched position and disappeared from her eyesight. She internally hoped that nobody had seen him. Bella rushed to her side, while Tamara sat, gapping at the dent on Tyler's van.

Forks should have been better, different from back home. She should have gone through the whole day without doing or seeing anything bizarre. But if anything, the last few weeks had taught her that not everything went the way she wanted it to. Though she was grateful that he had saved her life, it just had to be Edward Cullen, didn't it?

She needed to know the information he did.

She had been silent and unmoving the entire trip to the hospital. Her words were left in the dust when she tried to reassure both Bella and the paramedics on the scene that she was perfectly fine, not even her head was throbbing from the impact that it had made with the icy tarred pavement. She was far from concussed like Bella had presumed she would be.

The brunette sat beside her holding her hand and despite the fact they had just met, she refused to let go. Maybe it was guilt that she had been the cause of her very minor (and probably non-existent) head injury and near-death experience. But whatever it was, she was there. Tamara was unsure how she should feel about the worry that was so clearly evident on the girls' features.

It only occurred to her the minute she entered the hospital in a wheelchair she certainly didn't need, that she had already broken her mother's first rule on her first day, and it didn't help that she worked at the same hospital.

Her mother was by far one of the nicest—and weirdest—people she knew but when it came to Tamara and her safety, she tended to overreact and overstate things just a bit.

She sat there fidgeting, Bella on the other end of the room with her father beside her and Tyler who she had already forgiven, on the bed next to her own. The boy was unable to keep himself from apologizing every chance he got. She understood, but her mother wouldn't. She couldn't protect him from the woman's wrath.

"Where is he?" She heard a low growl, strangely, it wasn't the most intimidating her mother had ever been. There was worse and this wasn't it.

Nonetheless, she couldn't help but look at Tyler and say, "I'm sorry." All he did was stare at her with wide eyes. She heard her mothers quick gentle steps and when she came into view she pursed her lips, not sure what to do. "Hey, mom." She said with a small nervous smile.

"Hey, mom? Thats all you have to say? What did I say about the hospital?" She asked, removing her hands from her coat and placing them delicately on her daughter's face, something she did to silently ask if she was okay.

"To not get anyone else admitted?" She answered as she saw Chief Swan make his way from Bella's side towards Tamara.

Joscelyn gave Tamara a blank look. "That is not funny." She said with a certain hardness to her tone as she began to face Tyler. "Ma." She dragged out. She hated it when her mother got like this.
