"You understand me?" Kyle asked the giant girl kneeling in front of him. She nodded her head yes, and for the first time Kyle realized how beautiful she was. She had all the right curves, very light brown hair (most likely bleached by the sun), and the prettiest green eyes Kyle had ever seen. Her only imperfection was that she was 25 feet tall, but somehow the size only made her more attractive. In the silence, Kyle began to realize that everything he thought he'd dreamt had come to pass. His parents were both gone, and he was completely stranded and without any family. His eyes welled up, and he had to turn away from the girl so she couldn't see his embarrassment. She noticed anyway, and brushed the tears from his eyes with her finger. Kyle looked back at her, and he saw his same deep sadness in her eyes as well.
"Let's take a walk," she said as she pretty much lifted him off of the bed onto the floor. As they strolled down the beach, Kyle's mind flooded with questions, but she beat him to it. The girl asked,"What's your name?" "Kyle," he responded. "Oh, well my name's Emma." "That's a pretty name," Kyle said while criticizing himself for saying something so stupid. She blushed and looked away before composing herself and asking Kyle how he had gotten to her island. He recounted the previous night, where he had watched his parents die on a sinking ship. Emma reassuringly moved closer to him and put her hand on his shoulder for comfort, and she smelled like tropical fruit and the sea. "So how did you get here?," Kyle prodded for the first time. Emma thought for a moment, before telling him that she didn't know, and had just always been here. She had known English and basic social cues, but that was about it. Kyle understood her loneliness, he knew what it felt like to have no family. The two just walked in each other's comfort for a while before returning to Emma's house.
