I made my way towards the beach party, following the sound of drunk teenagers and blasting music. Once I got there I noticed one of the boys from the restaurant was filling up people's cups. I decided I might as well get drunk and enjoy myself a little.
I walked up to the tall brunette who already looked quite tipsy.
"Anything left in that keg?" I asked.
His eyes widened as he looked up and saw me.
"Y-yeah," he stuttered.
What is it with these pogues around new people?
He filled up my cup and started to ask me questions.
"You're the new girl," he said.
"Apparently that's what everyone's calling me, yes," I responded, unamused.
"Well, no one exactly knows your name," he challenged.
He had a point.
"Nova," I said.
"Well, nice to meet you Nova, I'm John B," he smiled, handing over my cup.
"You too," I half smiled, taking my cup and walking away.
I saw an empty log by the camp fire that had been set up and decided it was a good spot to drink my beer in peace. However, not minutes later a familiar blue eyed, blonde boy came and sat down next to me.
"Well if it isn't the new girl," JJ chimed.
"Well if it isn't the pogue pirate, checking out shipwrecks," I retorted, taking a sip from my cup.
His eyes widened, his posture showing alarm.
"Uh, about that...that was just a joke," he laughed nervously.
I raised my eyebrow, giving him a side glance.
"Yeah, no shit Sherlock, I didn't think you were being serious," I responded suspiciously.
Well now I thought, maybe he was being serious.
"Oh, yeah of course," he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously.
"So, I still don't know your name..." he continued.
I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"You're never going to give it up are you?"
"Nope," he replied, popping the p.
"Nova," I said.
"Nova...nova...hmm," he said, stroking his chin as if in deep thought.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing," he shrugged, 'just trying to decide whether that's a pretty name or not."
"At least mine's an actual name, not some abbreviation," I retorted.
"Hey! Don't diss JJ, my name happens to be very catchy and memorable," he laughed.
"Sounds like a dog's name."
He gasped in response, "you did not."
"Yeah, I did," I challenged.
"Well...well your name..." he struggled to come up with a come back.
"My name what?" I was thoroughly enjoying this.
"Nothing, your name nothing," he sighed in defeat.
"Your name's pretty cool actually," he continued, "sounds like supernova."
I rolled my eyes.
"Very original."
"Just an observation," he smiled.
All of a sudden we heard shouting coming from the shore. I looked over and saw none other than Topper, arguing with John B. Their verbal disagreement soon turned physical as they started to shove each other.
I heard Sarah pleading them to stop and then they start punching each other. JJ stands up immediately and runs over towards the commotion, but he's stopped by some of Topper's friends.
I decided to head over and at this point Topper was practically drowning John B in the water. Sarah's screams continued and I soon realised he wasn't letting go of the boy.
However, before I went up to the asshole and yanked him off John B myself, JJ was there. He had a gun pointed right at Topper's neck. Everyone started to disperse at the sight of the fire arm and Topper freezed, letting go of John B as JJ threatened to blow his brains out.
"Everybody, get off our side of the island!" JJ shouted as he fired the gun up into the air twice, causing screams.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!" The last boy from the restaurant yelled.
"Sort your psycho friend out," Sarah remarked at the trio before leaving with Topper.
I walked up to JJ and whispered, "in my opinion...that was pretty badass."
JJ smirked in response, "finally someone who appreciates a little self defence."
a/n: this chapter was kind of short, sorry! but I hope you enjoyed :))
