“Archer is really into you,” I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. “Come on, Ileia!” Gigi said and pushed me lightly.
“Archer is not into m–” but Archer Isaiah, stopped in front of me. Leaving his teamates annoyed while they were shouting for his name.
We were watching them play basketball and Gigi really thinks that Archer likes me.
“Archer Isaiah E. Paraiso,” he said. He extended his hand.
I looked at it. “Basa kamay mo.”
He smiled at me and proceeded to wipe it on his shorts. Ew
“Archer Isaiah,” he said.
I sighed, watching my friend Gigi squeal and wiggle like a worm behind Archer. While his friends were shouting and teasing us.
“Ileia Andrea.” and I held his hand. He never let go.
You see that was how we started, simple. Archer Isaiah always knew what he wanted, unlike his father.
“What are you thinking about?” I instantly smiled and my eyes lit up when I heard Archer's voice. “I miss you.” I giggled and kissed him.
“Wala naman, Dad was talking about mom.” I wasn't on speaking terms with my mom dahil nga Archer and I decided to move in together and he already bought a unit.
“She's still mad?” Archer asked. We sat down on the table and he took a bite from my croissant. “She really hates me.”
Umiling ako. “My mom doesn't hate you, Arch. She hates that she's watching herself and your dad through us and she's scared that we'd end up the same way as they did.”
My mom can't hate Archer, he's been a nice boyfriend. He loves me. But there's a reason why i'm an only child. Some people just move on and some tries their best to start again. My mom just moved on with my dad, Tito Brent on the other, hand started again with Tita Sydney.
“Mom wants us to have dinner with them tonight.” I nodded and made a mental note of what Archer just said.
“You know i'm surprised that your dad doesn't recognize my face. I mean I look like my mom.” Natawa si Archer sa sinabi ko at umiling.
“Oh my dad knows,” he said, nodding with a smirk on his face. “He just chooses not to acknowledge it. He sees you as Ileia Cansino, not Elin.” He has a point.
My mom always saw Archer as his dad and I swear she's afraid that he'll broke my heart.
“Is it weird that we look just like our parents?” I asked Archer. Snatching my mango shake away from him.
“It's not weird, parents natin yun.” he raised his hand to call the waiter's attention. “Mas weird if hindi natin sila kamukha.”
I playfully rolled my eyes. “Okay, Mr. Smarty pants.” he reached out to pinch my cheeks, which I show him that I hate but I secretly love.
“Archer,” I called out. He raised his brows and looked at me. “Don't love me too much.”
“Ileai, come on.”
Ngumiti ako. “Let's not love each other too much and end up like our parents.”
