Yinakap ko si CJ.

He was on the couch, watching tv. I hugged him from behind, my head on his shoulders. I know that I wasn't the perfect wife, I wasn't even the perfect girlfriend. But CJ was always patient. Ever since I met him, hindi siya nagbago.

“Bakit nanlalambing misis ko?” He asked. Ngumiti ako at umupo sa tabi niya, he turned off the TV. “Kung bibili ka ng bag, okay lang kasi may binili ako.”

I rolled my eyes. “Wala, masama maglambing?”

“Hindi naman,” he answered, pulling me into his chest. “You want to talk to Lei?” he asked.

I shrugged and wrapped my hand on his waist. “Hindi ka ba nasaktan sa sinabi niya?”

“Nasaktan.” he ran his hand through my hair. “Pero anak natin 'yun eh.”

“I don't think she's happy in UST.”

CJ nodded. “I know.”

“Should we tell her?”

I rolled my eyes. “It was your fault,” I exclaimed. CJ laughed but he didn't say anything. He focused on the TV and I cuddled into him.

It made me remember the day I met him. I was in QPav, walking towards my friend and CJ was sitting down playing with his phone when I slipped.

Tangina!” I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth.

CJ Cansino stopped laughing at me and crouched down to help me. “Ang bilis mo naman ma-fall for me, Miss.”

I rolled my eyes. “I didn't fall! You tripped me!”

He raised both of his hands. “Anong trip? Eh mag-isa kang nadulas?” I rolled my eyes, sinamahan ko lang yung classmate ko rito kasi crush niya si Renzo tapos masasaktan pa ako. “Gusto mo bang dalhin kita sa clinic?” he raised his brows.

“I don't talk to strangers.” I pretended na hindi ko siya kilala. Hindi dahil ayoko sa baskteball players, but because he looks like an asshole, parang puro sapatos at babae lang inaatupad.

“Crispin John,” he said, smiling. I rolled my eyes again. “You know, baka lumuwa na yung mata mo sa kaka-irap mo, ingat ka.”

“Shut up, Crispy.” he laughed.

He stopped laughing when I winced, I tried to walk but couldn't. “Tara na, dadalhin na kita sa clinic, wag na matigas ulo.”

“My friend,” sabi ko. CJ sighed and took out his phone, dialing Renzo's number.

“Oh.” inabot niya sa akin yung phone niya, and I could see Renzo giving the phone to Amelia, my classmate and friend.

Amelia raised her thumbs and I can hear her giggle through the phone.

Crispy asked.

I bit my lip. “Sorry.”

“Bakit?”

“Kasi pinagbintangan kita,” I said. Crispy just nodded and smiled.

“Okay lang, hindi rin naman kita hahayaang mafall at masaktan dahil sa akin.” my eyes widened, he smiled again and picked me up, bridal style. “I think may sprain ka ankle, di ako sure, di naman ako med student.”

I closed my eyes pagkalabas namin, hindi dahil sa mga titig ng tao sa amin but because of the sun.

“Ate girl, sandal mo kaya mukha mo sa balikat ko para di ka masilaw.”

“Ate girl?” I asked, following what he suggested, in fairness, mabango.

“Yeah, di mo naman sinabi sa akin name mo, tinawag mo nalang ako bigla ng crispy, fried chicken lang ganon?” he joked.

“Elin.”

“Ha?”

“My name is Elin.”
