Day 102
The thought of admiring Grace from a distance for weeks, months even, has concluded itself for more than a year. Time does fly. It’s been months since we started our honest friendship, which leads to over a few weeks being in an actual relationship.
Most guys my age probably are not experiencing what’s going on in my life. I’m pretty sure most of them would either be out partying and bang every moving girl every now and then. The other half might be working their ass off for college or staying at home and playing games.
Where I spent months on my music and my bad on X Factor, releasing an album soon. Loving a girl that I almost can’t have, and turned out she was ill. So there was little time that we could spend out on a date, a proper dinner date or movies. I’m too concerned about her health, that I won’t risk anything. I won’t be selfish.
But because I know her for a long time now, I though why can’t we publicate our relationship. I trust her, and our relationsip, that there won’t be any wrong things going on in any time being. With the world knowing, wouldn’t things be easier for us? Or is it the other way around?
Sitting at the porch of Grace’s house, on the rock chair where her Grandad used to sit. I daze off to the distance, and saw the sight of her nan and Jamie, her little sister, sitting in the corner of my eye. The cold breeze ran through my hair, and brought me capturing the moment and rewinding it in my head.
We were on our way home from an award ceremony, called The Brit. I was in the car with Zayn, Niall and Rosie. All night I saw how Niall and Rosie can be comfortable with each other, taking pictures on the red carpet, his hands on her waist, telling off the world that he was hers. Course there was that age difference, Niall is 19 and Rosie was 25. But that made Niall so proud of himself.
“What’s it like to have an open relationship?”
“Well it has it ups and downs. You know, you just don’t seem to care and be careful all the time. It’s all fun and relaxing, but people get all nosey. You know?”
“Is it worth it?”
“Course it is, you’ll feel happier when you do. Atleast that’s what I felt with Rosie”
“You know I’m not exactly dating a Victoria Secret angel.. Grace is just another londoner who rides the tube everyday”, we both laughed because it was true.
“You dated her out of love, there’s no shame in that. But the media might want to dug up more info about her, probably from her past. That… you should tell her first”
“So she’s not too shocked?”
“She’ll have to adjust. Rosie loves all the attention, so it works good bothways”
“I’ll have to ask her about all this then”
“You make sure you do”
“Ha… Ry!”, Jamie yelled. Biscuits were scattered inside her mouth, she pointed at something behind me. She went all giddy that her nan smiled while supporting both her waist so she won’t fall off the chair.
“What’s up Jamie?”, I looked back and saw her sister. Grace had his hair down, curled. I can tell that she wore make up, and it didn’t bother me if she wore some or not. But remembering that this is the moment I’ll take her and show her off to the world… This is something worth dressing up for.
She wore a black backless dress that hung just above her knees, something elegant and sexy. “You look wonderful darling”, I kissed her cheeks. “That used to be my dress”, her nan nodded. “Modificated of course”, Grace explained. “God I imagined your nan wearing a backless dress”, I whispered. We shared a secret laugh.
“You’re all tidy yourself”, she held on to my arms. Yes course I wore my Armani tux. We’re gonna be a proper posh couple tonight. “How was Alan Carr? When is it on?”, she sat on the bench.
“You know. He was rediculously funny, same old same old. He challenged Zayn on a dance off and it was crazy. His lame oldschool moves and Alan trying to break dance. Legend”, I explained without trying to hurt my tummy with laughing too much.
She smiled, “Well that’s one worth watching then. Are we ready to go?”, I nodded. We both kissed Jamie on the cheek, and said goodbye to her nan. Even though she’s really old, she manages to take care of both Grace and Jamie. It’s amazing, the amount of her undying love for their grandchild. I’d like to be like that someday, not just yet, in years to come.
I held her hand and supported her hand through the pavement. Opening the door for her, “There you go madam”, she climbed in. It was only a 45 minutes drive, and we’re meeting Niall there.
We were going to Assagi, some italian cuisine up in Notting Hill. It was one of Rosie’s favorite restaurant, and she always bump in to people here. Which is exactly what I needed, to show Grace off. We were meeting them there, it was easier that way rather than I have to pick them up back in our flat.
After putting my key at the valet service, we went inside holding hands. “You ready?”, I kissed her cheeks. “I’m ready”, she breathed in. She was nervous, I could tell. “I’m not embarresed of you”, I told her before we got in. “I know you’re not, but I am”, she nudged my limbs. I gave her a look, eyebrows up, “right right. Elegant”, causing me to laugh. “Act like yourself”, I kissed her again.
“Reservation for Rosie Huntington for four please”, I told the waitress. She checked the computer and then guided us to our table, “this way please”
It was a really nice restaurant. Great atmosphere. The smell of fresh bread and baked bolognaise sauce filled the room. Chatter and laughter from posh people, wearing clothes with the price the same with people’s flat rent for months. The rustic, boldly colored room has a welcoming bohemian feel to it.
I saw them already looking through menus. “Hey”, I kissed Rosie in the cheeks and man hugged Niall. Grace was welcomed as well, “you okay love?”, Rosie asked. “I’m great thanks. You look stunning”, she complimented. Ofcourse she was, she is always stunning.
We ordered a few main entrees and mostly lasagna and spaggeti for our main dish, and gellato for dessert. They do have uncomon regional dishes, and incredible choices of wine to offer.
“How’s your job and everything?”, we started off a conversation. Niall had his arms around Rosie’s chair. She snuggled her head on his shoulders every now and then, her hand slides in to his lap. They think we didn’t noticed but I glance at Grace, thinking of the same thing. She held my hand tight under the table.
“I have a shoot in Greece for a few days tomorrow, and an audition”, she said with pride. Niall looked really proud.
“Wow that’s amazing. What sort of audition?”, Grace asked, she acted polite.
“Nothing big, just transformers”, she grinned.
Grace’s jaw dropped, so did i. Transformers is a big merch, “That’s amazing. Hope you get it”, I clincked my glass to hers.
“So none of my talks now, what are you boys been up to?”
“Writing and recording. Album coming up in two months, should be epic”, Niall excitedly says.
“Everyone’s well accomplished and I’m just silly old me”, Grace did a weird accent. Joined by our awkward laugh.
“Be yourself”, I whispered her.
“She’s intimidating me with her beauty and success”, she scoffed.
I could only laugh from her reaction.
We finished off the dinner about two hours later, it was a decent dinner. And it feels nice, even though I know Grace’s dying to go home and curl up with her book and hot choco. But she’s giving this a chance.
When we both went out the restaurants, as I expected, paps with flashed cameras went storming by. Niall held Rosie’s hand tight and both looked down to the ground.
“You okay?”, I guided my hand to her waist. “Yes, it’s just so bright”, she chuckled. “Here it goes, I love you”, I breathed in and gave her a quick kiss. It was innocent, when our lips parted the world went spinning. They shouted, asking about her name. She grinned as we walk through them. We’re official.
