Glens pov

---

I woke up to Maggie nestled into my chest. I gently removed myself from her. Unfortunately, I have things to do today (like everyday). Her brown hair was a mess as she sat up. I woke her up anyways. Well, crap. If we met before this apocalypse we may not have gotten together, but at least if we did we could've cuddled on a Saturday and drank hot cocoa and watched TV all day.

"Whatcha doin' today?" She said sleepily while she rubbed her eyes.

I smiled, she's basically perfect. "Well, I gotta make a run for supplies. You wanna come?"

"Yeah, I got nothing better to do." She sighed.

We got dressed together and she headed to the bathroom to clean up. I headed downstairs to Rick, I needed to know what I was running for, Maggie doens't want me risking myself for nothing.

"Morning!" I say with some pep in my step.

"Morning! Here's your list. Stay safe. Be back as soon as you can. I don't think it will be much longer until Lori has the baby."

"Okay Capn'. Are you excited?" I smiled, hoping fatherhood could prevail even in this bleak time.

"More worried than excited, but yeah. I've wanted another child since Carl was 10. We just never. We just haven't been able to agree on much for awhile, but hey! I got my way." He chuckled.

Maggie joined us with her hair almost as messy as when she left me. Why even then? I just laughed.

"Alright Glen, what're we looking for?" Maggie said as we began to walk onto the porch.

"Hey don'T LEAVE YET!" I heard Naiomi plead as she came downstairs almost tripping on her own two feet. As she regained herself her long black hair remained disheveled. I sigh, This girl. She needs some direction.

"...You've never killed a walker, right? And you wanna come with us? Ask Rick, but I think that you need some training or something." I said sternly. It took a second for me to realize that I'm patronizing her, or something like that. I feel a little guilty, but honestly.

She ran away giving me her pointer finger telling me to wait a sec, and I did.

She came back and she had Pam with her, but she looked pissed. I would be too if I had to have a baby sitter.

We went to town on two horses, sadly instead of Maggie cupping to my back I have Naiomi, who didn't know how to ride. I feel like I'm downing her a lot, but I'm sure she had a redeeming factor before the end of the world. Maggie led the other horse, but I Pam knew how to ride, she was just being courteous. I feel like Pam would always be that way. For an orphan, she has really great manors.

We got to the shopping center and it appeared basically empty but Maggie switched horses and I got down so that I could silently put down the stray walkers. I used my baseball bat and didn't flinch at all as I felt the blood splatter onto my shirt. Dangit. I wanted one clean shirt. Just one.

We got into the shopping center and we split and said we'd meet back in 15 minutes. A three note whistle was the signal for trouble. We search the shelves, nearly empty, and find the things we need and before we know it, after a couple walkers and stuffing our bags we need to get back to the horses.

They are just leaving their shops when we decide that if they don't get here soon we're gunna let out the whistle. but they emerge with two duffel bags full of things.

We start situating ourselves onto the horses and walkers start coming out of the shops we didn't look at. They must've heard us rummaging around and at first they don't see us. We take the opportunity to leave quickly. We get back after weaving through cars and we get back in time for people to be waiting for us at the gate.Daryl is looking at Naiomi really angrily, he is coughing pretty hard. I hand him the antibiotic from the bag.

"THanks man." he said hoarsely.

"No big!"

Well, hope they're okay. but it doesn't look like it because she looks annoyed herself. Even though when we left she seemed content with her pickings. I hand over my bag to Rick.

"We got everything on the list and a little more just in case." I said proudly.

"Thanks! Could you actually take this to Lori? I have planning to do for crops"

"Awesome! Yeah, no problem." I say taking the bag back and walking off.

As we got into the house Lori gave us a million thank you's and headed up to her room, I suppose to set up parts of their makeshift nursery. I headed out to Rick and Maggie stayed behind with Lori to help her out. I like being the errand boy and all but I want to be apart of making this place more of a REAL home. A self sustaining home.
