Suvblevan is a city in the kingdom of Opelia. The morning in Suvblevan was cold. The road was soaked with last night pouring rain as the streets are empty from people. A few moments later, a woman in her 20's walked out of her workplace with a dog following behind. The woman's attire is a bit too casual for a dog walking occasion, even the dog was without its leash. Seemingly, she has a strong sense of trust towards the dog to do so. Her steps were light yet confident and her long wavy hair swayed. In her black jacket hides a small gun licensed under Opelia Police Department.

She went into one of the early shops that opened. Bucks Bake, the town's bakery. Her dog that has been following her, waited outside of the shop obediently. 'Well mannered' said one of the bakery's worker with a smile. The women nodded saying that the dog has always been very wise witted. She went to the racks, grabbing a slice of garlic bread along with a sausage roll.

"One for Early Ellis, and one for the wise Buno", greeted the bakery's owner who is also the one that took care of the counter. The old yet steady hands wrapped up the pastries into a paper bag after mentioning the price to Ellis, which she then payed and went out of the shop with the fresh breads in her hand. "Happy breakfast." Said Ellis handing out the sausage roll for Buno.

They then walked down the street and sat on a bench across a cigar shop. The people are now seen to be out of their residences. Some are with their partners and some are just out for a jog. Ellis pulled out her phone from her jeans with her left hand, the other hand holding the garlic bread to her mouth. She sat there cross-legged munching and skimming through her phone. Fitting into disguise. Buno is now nowhere to be seen. Ellis trusted him to do his job. She knows the dog could comprehend what needed to be done. They have been working together long enough to have that much trust.

A man with a snake tattoo on his neck came out of a nearby shop. Everything about his body language was suspicious. The man was definitely not from this part of town, judging from the way his eyes wonders around anxiously, checking his surroundings. As if afraid of something or someone going after him.

Ellis while munching on her garlic bread, noticed the man. 'This is the person. The tattoo confirmed it.' She thought as she wrapped her unfinished breakfast back into the paper bag. They went out for this sole purpose. Right when they both stepped out of the door of the building. Their task for today was only to question the suspect.

Suddenly the man's cautious eyes locked with Ellis's. They both stared at each other for a brief moment before the man realized who Ellis was. "Hey." Said Ellis walking across the almost busy street. Before she could even introduce herself, the man turned and walked away hurriedly, trying to escape. Ellis followed him and tried to stop him. The man panicked and started to run, leaving Ellis in a distance. Right when the man reach the corner of the pedestrian, Buno came from behind the last block and bit the man's leg. The tattooed man fell onto the concrete walk. In pain, he struggled to get Buno off his leg with his other feet kicking Buno's head ferociously. Resulting Buno to let go of the man before Ellis could even get closer. The tattooed man stood up and started running to cross the busy main road. Before he could reach the other side of the road, suddenly an ice truck came and hit the man. His body thrown across the street. Blood gushing from the back of his head. His left arm and his legs disoriented. There is no way a man could survive that huge amount of impact and injuries yet, he did. Some would say it was a miracle but, the ambulance was fast, and the doctors were just very good with their job.

While the man laid unconscious on the ICU ward's bed of Opelia Hospital, Ellis received a call and immediately went back to Opelia police department. She knows that she had practically destroyed their only chance to their missing cold case. Lists of children have been missing for months and all of the leads she could get vanished from a wrongly chosen step. She shouldn't have run after the man, or maybe Buno should have hold onto the man's leg tighter. Anything could have avoided the man from getting killed or in this case, the man has only thirty percent chance of gaining his conscious back. The doctors are not even sure if the man could regain sixty percent of his memory. To even hope for any information from the man was enough of a ridiculous thought.

Ellis entered the Chief's office shoving her thoughts of guilt and anxiety aside. She has to be professional, at least this time she will. The Chief was standing right in front of his desk. The files and reports of cases could be seen piled up all over the desk behind him. His eyes cornered Ellis's as he moved his stance to walk around his table and sat on his black leathered chair. "I had a counsel with your supervisor regarding the case you were investigating on. And I know enough that you are doing your best to find your leads...you were the best detective we have after all, but, we did come to a conclusion that, it is best for this case to be put down for a little while." Said the chief putting down the files that were supposed to be the missing children's reports. The air in the packed office thickened. Ellis could not believe what she just heard. Besides feeling anxious or guilty, Ellis felt her anger surpassing all the others.

"No thank you, sir. I'm afraid I can't do that. More of those children could be in danger; I can't keep on doing other things knowing that they are not safe." The grip in her hands tightens as she tried to control her anger.

"You are not going to work on this case, Ellis, or you consider yourself fired."Said the chief while shuffling through other files, the action showing that she is dismissed albeit rudely.

That's it. She could not hold her anger anymore, Ellis fish out her badge from her back pocket, took off her holster and slammed them on top of the chief's table.

"Then, I am fired"
