"Pull in right there." Jeff pointed at an empty place on the road behind another car. The vehicle looked extremely expensive so I made sure to be careful.
"I'm to broke to even park here." I laughed. Everything around me was worth more then myself. "Does David know I'm coming?"
"I didn't tell him but I'm sure it'll be fine. Come on." Jeff ushered me out of the car.
"What if he doesn't want me to come!?" I exclaimed then quickly followed after Jeff. Anxiety started coursing through my body as we got closer to the door. "You're sure he won't care?" I asked once more. Jeff immediately stopped and turned on his heel too look at me.
"Shay, it's okay. Everyone loves you here so no one is going to be mad I brought you. Calm down." He reassured me making me relax some. "I've never seen you so anxious." He uttered.
"Well I guess when you're losing your best friend you kinda question everyone's feeling towards you." I sighed and looked down.
"Hey," he said, placing his left hand on my shoulder and his right hand underneath my chin so I'd look up at him. "You never have to question my- our feelings toward you. We all adore you."
Was that mess up an accident? Either way his words completely alleviated all my anxiety. He made me feel so safe. "Thank you." I blushed.
"Let's go inside and not think about a certain friend for the day. Have fun with me." He insisted and with that we made our way into the house.
"Shay!" Was the first thing we heard once we went inside.
"Zayne!" I shouted with a huge smile. Coming here always made me so happy, I can't believe I almost forgot that. "Where is everyone?" I asked.
"Oh yknow, they're all out bullshitting." He answered and leaned in for a hug. "How are you?"
"I'm good! I got the best sleep last night. How about you?" I answered after we let go of each other.
Right before Zayne could answer my question, Jeff interrupted, "Oh I'm great, thanks for asking. I'm gunna go see where everyone else is." Before walking off
Zayne and I watched him as he sauntered out of the room. "I'm assuming he didn't get the best sleep last night." Zayne whispered, making us both giggle but I was honestly a bit confused. Jeff seemed so happy this morning.
*buzz*
"Must be you hun because my phone is DEAD. Especially after not charging it last night." Zayne said, once again making me laugh before walking off.
Once he was gone, I checked my phone.
"Shay?"
"Huh?" I jumped and looked at who said my name. It was Jeff.
"You okay?" He asked as I stuffed my phone in my back pocket.
"Yeah of course." I played it off with a smile. "Are you? You seemed a little upset a minute ago."
"Oh, Yeah I'm good." He smiled as well, with the same kind of grin I had. One that says 'I'm lying'. I decided to ignore it for right now and continue on so we could have a good day.
"Then let's go find the others, yeah?" I suggested.
"Sounds good to me."
It didn't take us too long until we found David, Scott, Zayne and Heath in the backyard. They were all sitting in the lawn furniture talking and laughing with each other.
"They you guys are! Damn!" Heath exclaimed. "Come on over here and sit with us!"
"Hey guys." Scott held up his beer to us.
"Scott, it's 1 o'clock." Jeff laughed, pointing at the alcoholic beverage.
"It's none of your business." Scott joked back before taking a large chug.
"Hi Shaaay." David said from behind his camera that was zoomed in on me, probably my face.
"Hello David." I replied unenthusiastically making everyone laugh but once we stopped, he turned off his camera and starting talking again. I sat on the love seat that was near me and Jeff followed my actions.
We all sat and talked for a good hour before David's phone rang. "I'll be back in a second." He told the group, even though everyone was pretty much in their own conversations now. With Scott on his phone and Zayne and Heath arguing, Jeff leaned over to me.
"Are you having fun?" He whispered. I turned my head toward him and quickly realized how close we were. All the air in my lungs escaped so I only gave him a small nod and a sweet smile. "I'm glad." He added, looking into my eyes then down at my lips.
"Madi's here!" David yelled from inside.
"What?" I blurted with more attitude then intended, completely ruining the moment I was having with Jeff. "Are you Joking?" I said under my breath as I rolled my eyes.
"Play nice." Jeff said, looking right at me knowing damn well how mad I just became.
"Is everything okay with you and Madi?" Scott inquired.
"Of course." I'm smiled my fake grin once again today. This time it was much harder to stay quiet.
