Chapter 5

Todorokis pov
"...and midoriya you will be with Todoroki, Bakugou you and Kirishima are the final pair"
I couldn't believe it.. I couldn't. My heart pounded as I turned to be met by a beaming Midoriya. I was frozen... I honestly couldn't move.. the warmth I have been so addicted to was swarming all over my body, even with one look. " I'm so glad that we are together Todoroki! I was scared I might get kachan again" I tried to compose myself but found all I could do was nod. Why was this affecting me so much? It was just a training exercise. Aizawa listed the order in which the teams would enter the maze and me and Midoriya were third after Kaminari and jiro. We took the time to prepare strategies together, until it was our turn to begin.
"And... begin" a high pitched buzzer sounded shrilly.
Midoriya and I started off at a fast paced run, going straight ahead a single path until we came to a fork. My footsteps pounded in time with izukus which was honestly surprising . I was about to say something when I heard midoriya mumbling. I laughed to myself in my head, it was a habit of his that made him unique. I liked it. "So midoriya?" His head snapped up. "Sorry Todoroki! Anyway I think I know which way we should go" I look at him, waiting for him to continue. I trust midoriya, he has proved so many times he has a brilliant mind. "Okay... left" I didn't question him and we started running down the left quickly but cautiously . As I expected he explained. " jiro was before us right? Which means she probably used her quirk, all we need to do is follow the small holes in the walls from her jacks as she will use her power to navigate the maze , seeing as she and kaminari made it out fast we should stick to their path" I just stared at him. He really just thought of that? Damn.

Izuku pov
We are at an advantage because of jiro and kaminari being before us. Now the only thing me and todoroki need to focus on are the obstacles that Aizawa mentioned. We kept running down the paths, not encountering anything, I was beginning to think that maybe all the obstacles had been taken out by ka-
I skidded to a halt when I saw Todoroki frozen in front of me. He was staring at something ahead and I followed his gaze to where a figure seemed to be standing, immediately my mind raced. I whisper quietly " Todoroki... if this is the obstacle then it just looks like one person... however we have no information on their quirk an-" I was cut of as the figure suddenly started running towards us with terrifying speed, and it was then, when I got a closer look, did I realise who this was and what kind of danger we were truly in. I had to warn Todoroki. I charged up one for all and got into a defensive stance. " you can't let him touch you Todoroki!" Was all the information I could give before having to narrowly dodge an attack from the man ,countering with a smash that somehow missed, immediately I  recovered my form. Ice flew from Todorokis hand, an attack that never seemed to fail, however, the opponent was too fast, his movements similar to that of Gran Torino . His face.... I recognise him from my hero notes.. . I prepared for an attack but before I could, everything seemed in slow motion as the man managed to get one finger to connect with Todorokis arm before his left side activated, making the man fall back immediately to avoid the raging hot flames. For a second all I could see was the sparks of dark light that glinted from Todorokis arm." Todoroki!!" I charged up my power again only to realise that the figure had gone and had left me and Todoroki alone....at first I couldn't figure out why but then I remembered..

I rushed to Todorokis side but before I could get there dark smoke started to flicker infront of us, seeming to take shape in distorted ways. " Midoriya ?you told me not to let him touch me... what happens if he did?" My eyes widened and I prayed my voice not to shake." If I remember right... and it is the hero I'm thinking of... his quirk is fear manifestation...."
I saw Todoroki shudder as the smoke seemed to shape, I got into a battle stance, not sure what to expect, Todoroki-kuns worst fear? He's so mysterious and kept to himself I have no information of what this could be or what kind of approach to take . Like someone had used his ice quirk against him Todoroki went rigid and his breathing quickened at an alarming pace. Before I could register what was happening the smoke suddenly took form and there I could see... his most deepest terror.

The scene infront of me was something I never thought to expect.. it showed Todoroki, although he seemed to be a lot older and now I notice.. he looked just like ..... his father. Endeavour .the resemblance was truly terrifying, he towered over someone cowering in the ground before picking them up by their neck.. Todorokis face was twisted with a sinister smirk as he started to relentlessly abuse the figure with blows that splattered blood all the way to my feet, screams and blood curdling wails helped me identify the victim.
