Chapter 2

(Y/n) P.O.V.

"Pardon me," Tanjiro said " We see you have a basket and some bamboo and straw over there"

"Can we have them?" I said

"Sure but the basket's got a hole in it," They replied

"That's fine we would like to pay you," Tanjiro said

"There's no need... not for a worn-down basket,"  He said waving it off

"No. We're paying"

"Please just take it. The bamboo and the straw."

I just sigh as I watch this play out. Then Tanjiro slams the coins in the man's hand. I walk up to the man and said

"Please excuse my brother's rudeness," I said while bowing down.  I extended my hand and the man gave me back our coin. I bow again. Tanjiro holding the bamboo and the straw as for me I slipped the coins into a basket near than. We were walking back when Tanjiro turn to face me

"Nee-chan why did you take the coins back? Mother always said to pay people back if they gave you something."

I gave him a small smile "Who said I didn't pay them"

"Nezuko" Tanjiro called into the cave "Huh?! Nezuko!" Tanjiro turn to me "She's gone"

I took a peek in the cave and saw a hole. Then Nezuko pops out of the hole. 'Nezuko must really hate the sun'

"Come on Tanjiro lets get to work," I said dusting off the dust on my kimono. We started to work on the basket that we would carry Nezuko in. After some time, we finally finish.

"Can you fit?" Tanjiro ask Nezuko

"We would use it to carry you. We want to travel during the day too." I finish.

"Get into the basket," Tanjiro said pointing to the basket.

Nezuko made an attempt to get into the basket but it was too small.

"I think it's too small" Tanjiro stated

Suddenly an idea popped into my head.

"Hey, Nezuko can you get smaller?" I ask

Nezuko pushes herself up into the basket using her toes. The basket land right up and Nezuko shrank to fit in the basket. After she finishes shrinking, she was as snug as a bug. "Good job, Nezuko," I said and gave her head pats.

"To reach the slopes of Sagiri you must first pass through these mountains." A kind lady said "The sun is going down now... Are you sure you want to continue? With such large luggage won't it be dangerous"

"Don't worry ma'am," I said as we bow down

"We will try to be prudent." Tanjiro continued

"Thank you for everything." Tanjiro and I said at the same time.

"There are stories of travelers that disappear into thin air. Be careful!" The lady warned us.

After the lady and her son were out of view we let Nezuko out of her basket. I hold Tanjiro and Nezuko as we walked up the mountain. My dark red eyes were scanning the forest. Tanjiro has a good sense of smell while I have good eyesight. That's how I hunt. I saw a small glow and started to walk toward it. Soon we came upon a temple.

"Look, a temple!" Tanjiro said

"You can also see light inside. We have some company. Come on" I said leading Tanjiro and Nezuko to the temple. Suddenly Tanjiro stops. His eyes were in shook.

"This is the smell of blood, Tanjiro said "Some might be hurt"

Tanjiro and I rush in as Nezuko was dragged by us.

I slide the door open "Does anyone need..." I was horrified at what I saw dead bodies everywhere and a demon eating their flesh. Then the demon looked at us

"Hey! This... This is my territory. TRESPASSERS ARE'T ALLOWED!" The demon yelled.

We all stood there in silence.

"Hm? There's something strange... you three... You're human!"

As soon as he said that I reach for my sword but before I can touch it, the demon ran to Tanjiro. I ran to the demon and jump. Tanjiro and I both slash the demon. Tanjiro at his neck. Me at his back. After I slash him, I did a front flip and landed perfectly next to Tanjiro. He stumbled back before laughing.

"Haha. An ax and a sword. Nice. But a shallow cut like this. It can heal in no time. See? The blood has already stopped." The demon said looking at Tanjiro. "On the other hand, the cut in my back was deep. AND YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR IT!"

He lunges towards me at threw my sword off the edge. Then he started to choke me. Tanjiro just stands there is a shock.

"I won't let you hurt me again. And now... I'll break your neck"

My fist collided with his stomach and his head flew off. Thanks to Nezuko. Tanjiro started to help get the demon body off me when Nezuko suddenly slash near him

"Eh?! Nezuko!" Tanjiro yelled.

Tanjiro and I watch as Nezuko kicked the body to a tree. I stood up while Tanjiro still sitting there in shock.

Then the head started cursing at us. I pay no mind and look around and saw a headless body coming at us. Immediately Nezuko and I jump in to block the demon. Tanjiro swung his ax at the head that was coming at us. While Tanjiro was focus on the head, Nezuko and I was fighting the headless body. The headless body was coming at us, pushing us back towards the cliff. I was blocking the punches and protecting Nezuko. We were close to falling off when Tanjiro came in and tackle him. Nezuko and I reach out to grab his hand and pulled him up. We headed back to where the head was. The head was knocked out.

"Hey Tanjiro, I'm going to get my sword ok."

"Okay Nee-chan"

I walk away to the edge that the demon threw my sword off of. By the time I came back (with my sword) there was a man talking to Tanjiro
