I opened the window and gazed at the beautiful surroundings. I smiled as fresh air filled my nostrils.

Continuing to drive, hindi ko maikubli ang napakalaking ngiti sa labi ko. I am just so happy today because we will be celebrating our first month together. Lumingon ako sa kanya. He's sleeping soundly. So cute.

I turned my eyes back to the road, but when I noticed him move, I glanced at him again.

"You're awake." He wandered his eyes around before they landed on me. I chuckled at his inquisitive face.

"Nasaan tayo? Wala pa ba tayo sa pupuntahan natin?"

I shrugged and answered him with a small smile.

He frowned and groaned. "Ano ba 'yan!"

He didn't speak further. He just opened the window and rested his chin on his hand as he watched the scenery outside.

As I continued driving, my smile suddenly faded when I saw a truck approaching that seemed to be having a problem. It was swerving toward us. At that moment, the noise around seemed to have disappeared and it felt like time has stopped, and the only thing I could hear was my own breathing and heartbeat.

I tried stopping the car, but it was to no avail. When reality sunk in, sweat started rolling down the side of my face.

I swallowed hard several times, trying to figure out what to do. We were on a steep road, and the only choices I have in mind now are either to throw the car off the ravine or crash it into the tree on the side.

I turned to him and saw he was already looking at me. Fear and worry were written all over his face.

With a smile, I said his name while tears started falling from my eyes. I mouthed "I love you" before crashing the car into the tree.

After that, everything went silent.

I jolted awake, clutching my chest and gasping for air. I inhaled and exhaled to calm myself while wiping the sweat off my forehead. I also wiped away my tears.

I got up and walked to the veranda, and I was immediately greeted by the cold wind.

I have been dreaming of that scenario for over a year now. I don't understand why. It always makes me wonder what it is and why I keep dreaming about it. Their faces were all blurry. The voices were familiar, but I couldn't recall who they were. And that loud explosion in the background always leaves my heart in chaos.

I sighed.

Did I forget something so important before?

I don't know. All I know is that for the past three years, something has been missing in my life. All I know is that there is something in the depths of my brain and in my heart. Something that I should not have forgotten.

Something that I think of as memories from before.
