The rest of the day was uneventful for the most part, mostly spent just interviewing strangers if they've seen or heard anything strange. Almost all of them have said something to the effect of 'no' before giving a distinct stare for a second and walking away quickly. Jotaro seemed a little less aloof after your time at the beach this morning. He still didn't talk to you for at least 90% of the day, but it wasn't a bad thing. It was probably for the better for both of you he didn't talk. He mostly just looked off into space while he walked around the town. It was a patten you noticed rather quickly considering he wasn't putting much energy into hiding it, he didn't walk around with a purpose.

He moved just to move, talked just to talk, ate just to fill something you couldn't see, etc. his actions were just sequences without an end.

You sighed and kept your thoughts to yourself as Jotaro's hotel phone rang.

Jotaro picked up the phone a you collected your pajamas to get ready for a shower, "Kujo. Who is this?". He nodded once and said "Alright." As he took the phone away from his ear and gestured for you to take the phone. Your heart almost skipped a beat as you put down your items and walked over to the phone line, taking it from him and hesitantly raised it to your ear as Jotaro laid down on the hotel bed, his hat covering his eyes.
"Hello?", you immediately regretted ever asking when you heard the voice on the opposite end, sending a deep rooted fear to rise.

"SCP-1990-SU. We've been getting anomalous reports in your current location. The agents stationed in Morioh have reported sightings in the Western area of your location. Another objective has been added to your planner. An agent has dropped off a small envelope containing some money and a card with details into your suitcase. Use it to take a taxi and investigate these sightings. Have a report written in four days from today. Don't be late. You know what will happen if you disobey."
His tone was sharp and cold as his two sentences echoed in your head. You held your breath for a moment before answering.
"Yes doctor. I understand my objectives and will complete them as soon as possible."

With a click the line went dead as you breathed out a long sigh and put the phone back on the receiver. You went over to your suitcase and felt around, finding the envelope tucked away at the side. It wasn't much, but it would be enough to at least make a round around the town.
"Mr. Jotaro.", you turned around and tried to keep the envelope hidden. He peeked at you from under his white hat.
"If I may, could I perhaps use tomorrow to go on a personal mission alone? I have been given orders that do not affect the case we have at hand, but it is important that I follow them."
"Good grief...if you need to do something important then go do it and take all the time you need. I'm not your dad. You don't need my permission to do anything."

You were left speechless for a moment. No one had ever told you that permission didn't need to be granted for anything. A small fringe of a smile bordered your lips, but nothing solid really formed.

"Understood. Thank you sir.", you said quietly and gathered your stuff and went to take a shower even if there was a little bit of sunlight left in the sky.

The water bullets berated your skin as you stood under the shower head. The hot water running down your arms as you scrubbed your head and trailed off into the porcelain floor, flowing down into a drain. You focused on the numbing effect of the heat as you pushed down any and all emotion. It was useless to you, but unfortunately your human aspect is prone to absorbing such information. Your hands gently scratched at your body and washed off salt and dirt residue, turning off the water when you felt sufficiently clean.

You dried yourself off with a soft hotel towel and thought of nothing as you put on your assigned night attire. It was nothing special. It looked like your usual day uniform, but looser. A tinge of sadness pierced your heart like a needle, but ignored it as was no use putting energy into stopping something that will never leave. Your mind remained empty as you dried your hair and checked for any unnoticed injury to your body, leaving when you found none.
