It was in the Feudal Area in the land of the East. A demon tribe was making their way home after visiting the North. It was an annual tradition for all demon tribes to meet at the annual ball that was held to meet newcomers and old commers and to discuss allies. Sometimes it would be positive when everything went smoothly and sometimes it would end up in a battle and the ball would end early. This year it went smoothly. The tribe walked on their land and went to their respective homes. The royals sat in their carriage and rode to the castle, guards on each side in case of any danger. The King and Queen along with their son who was at the age 50 but looking 19 years old walked into their home and going to their respective rooms. The King bid is wife goodnight and went to another room on the other side of the house. He wanted to check on his youngest daughter. He and wife were lucky to have another child. Sometimes it takes years until another child could be born or it was rare that a family would have another child. The father walked down the hallways his long mid-back black hair swaying. His dark hazel eyes staring forward. He finally reached the large double doors. As he was about to open the doors, he sensed something was off. With furrowed eyebrows he gently and cautiously opened the doors. Black ash was seen. He turned to his right and the drawings were on fire and some of the furnishing looked like it was saved from burning. Turning to where the bed laid, his heart nearly broke. There his daughter stood in the corner. Her black hair in a haze.
"I'm sorry papa" she whimpered. "I tried to stop it, I tried to stop it"
The next day the Royal family was up. The King was in his study with the Queen discussing the events that happened yesterday.
"Midgel what does this mean? We can't seek help from a doctor because last time he didn't know what to do. Midgel-
"She's getting worse" Midgel, the King interrupted her. "Aina, she is just a child and she doesn't know how to control her powers. I am at a lost because I don't know how to train her. No one else can know. They will take advantage of her powers. She won't be safe"
"Then what are we to do? Who can we trust? Midgel I do not want to lose my little girl. She didn't choose to live this way. I want my daughter to be trained but under those we trust. I don't want anyone to know who she is" sobbed the Queen. The King sat next to his wife and offered her comfort.
"It is the only way. If we have her trained under watchful eyes, then she will know and understand. She will be able to defend herself and control her powers. If she stays here, she will be a danger to others and herself. My love...it is the only way she can live in peace" Said Midgel. He too was struggling to let his little girl go. She was only 6 years old and her powers were already developing.
"Inu-no-Taisho" said the King.
"What?" questioned the Queen staring at her husband.
"I trust Inu-no-Taisho. He can watch her. He can train her. I believe that he will understand what kind of powers she has, and he will know a solution" said the King.
"I didn't know you trusted him. You guys bump heads so often it's hard to tell if you guys are playing around or you're ready to go to battle" replied the Queen in a humorous way.
The King chuckled softly, "That may be true, but we have our respect for each other. We take each other seriously. I will go and see him first thing tomorrow. Today we will spend as much time with her and make sure only our trusted servants know about her and will be around her. Including our guards. This secret cannot get out."
The next day the King kissed his family goodbye and traveled to the west. As he unmounted his dragon, he joined his guards. He walked up the steps after requesting to see the lord of the west. In his study the two kings sat down while guards stood outside the doors and two guard stood in the corners of the room.
"What brings you here?" Inu-no-Taisho's deep voice sounded. His hair up in a high ponytail and he was dressed in all black kimono with gold linings.
"Inu-no-Taisho, what we say here in this room will stay between us. This is a very important matter" said King Midgel.
Inu-no-Taisho nodded, and he put on his serious business face.
"It is my daughter, Mina" replied the King. "She is at the age of 6. She has developed powers a year ago. My wife and I did not know how she could develop these powers. We thought we could keep it secret and we would know how to train her. Sadly, that is not the case. Her powers are getting stronger. We don't know anyone who could help her, and we don't know anyone we trust that can keep silent about this matter"
"So why have you come to me? What assures you that I will be the one you trust that can watch over your child? How am I to train her and make sure she is safe, and she knows how to control her powers" asked Inu-no-Taisho.
"Inu-no-Taisho I know we had our differences and have our differences but we both know we respect each other. We may never admit we are friends, but we are allies when it is needed. You are the only person I trust. You are familiar with different things of this world and you always know a way how to approach it and resolve it. I am trusting you to do the same with my daughter. Inu-no-Taisho if I seek other help, they will abuse her. They will lock her up for being dangerous. She will live her life in fear. If she lives here, I know she will be safe. She will be watchful, and she will know how to survive but also know how to live freely" explained the King.
Inu-no-Taisho sat in thought. He knew it would be difficult to train someone so young. He was already going through training with his oldest son and he is a stubborn as he was at his age. Training someone will be different and will take a lot of work, but he trusts that his guards will keep silent and respect all secrets that are in the castle.
"I will train her, and she will live with me. I assure you that she will know how to control her powers. I am concerned about when she has her family come visit. If you continue to visit, people will get suspicious. Visiting must be kept to a minimum" explained the great dog demon.
"I assure you I will keep up with my part. I will inform you when it is safe for us to come visit and when it will be the right time" responded King Midgel.
After the meeting and agreement, King Midgel and his family spent as much time together before they sent their daughter to the West.
