Was it Elliot's toilet I saw?
Murder for a jar of red rum
Never odd or even

I'm sure you are wondering what the sentences above really mean . . . try to have a deeper look at the sentences again.

Did you see anything? Or can you figure out a link between the three sentences to help your curiosity?

The three sentences have something in common. Each sentence reads the same thing when read from either sides. This group of sentences is referred to as Palindromes.

(N.)
A word, phrase, number or any other sequence of units which has the property of reading the same forwards as it does backwards, character for character, sometimes disregarding punctuation, capitalization and diacritics.

Palindromes are words or group of words that read the same thing when read from either sides.

We may have a single word palindrome like:
madam, Lawal, etc.

We can also have word unit palindromes like:
First ladies rule the state and state the rule "ladies first"

Palindromic phrases and sentence palindromes like:
"Madam, I'm Adam"

More examples of Palindromes:

Single-word palindromes:
•Nun
•Rotator
•Level
•Hannah
•Racecar

Word-unit, sentence and phrase palindromes:
•Blessed are they that believe that they are blessed.
•You can cage a swallow, can't you, but you can't swallow a cage, can you?
•Rise to vote sir
•Please me by standing by me please
•Nurse's run

Fun facts:

Aibohphobia — is the irrational fear of palindromes.

Ailiphilia — is the love of palindromes.

And both are deliberately constructed to be palindromes combining the suffixes -phobia and -philia with their reversed spellings.
