Cassidy's POV
A pot hole jarred my awake. My eyes popped open at the abrupt motion. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed my cheek was pressed against a jean clad leg. I glanced up at my brother whose eyes were closed, his dark blond hair sticking in all directions, and his hand on the curve of my waist. Lifting my black lacquered manicured hand, I poked him in the leg repeatedly.
“Jack,” I whispered loudly.
“Hmm,” he groaned sleepily as his hand tightened.
“Upsie Daisy,” I replied as I lifted my cheek off his leg. There was a little drool splotch on his thigh. Well, that’s attractive. I thought dryly.
I detached Jack from my person and sat up. He continued muttering incomprehensibly. Looking at the time illuminated on the screen of the radio, 5:16 PM.
“How long til we get there?” I groggily asked my parents who were sitting casually up front.
“Any minute now,” my dad answered.
“Oh look, there’s the hotel,” Mom pointed out.
Following the direction of Mom’s gesture, the hotel came into view. The Four Seasons Resort came into view; it was positively magnificent. Dad pulled in and parked the car near the main office where you check in. Dad got out, and Mom followed suit. I have a strange feeling that they both put a little extra force into closing their respectable doors because Jack jumped. He dazedly rubbed the sleep out of his eyes whilst incoherently muttering profanities. I placed my hand over my mouth to muffle my giggle; Jack shot a glare my direction before he opened his own door and got out. I was the last person remaining in the car to retreat. As soon as my converse touched the concrete, and my blonde head popped out, I was blinded by the sun’s scorching rays. Fiddling through my hand bag, I found my Ray-Bans and shielded my eyes from future blindness. Once the black spots were blinked out my vision, I dragged my gaze up to the structure that as before me: five stories of brownstone walled and glass fronted windows all mingled together with glittering lights. This place is ginormous! I’m pretty sure Jack was going to have to pick my jaw up off the ground. The rest of the crew was already collecting their bags from the trunk so I pulled my gaze from the beautiful sight before me and went to get my bag as well. The car beep beeped as Dad locked it up, and we headed for check in. Dad held the door for us as we entered single file with me leading the pack. The lobby was mind-blowing: high ceilings, marbled floors, crystal chandeliers, taupe upholstered couches with gold accented throw pillows, high backed chairs, potted plants, glass topped oak tables with bright bouquets strategically placed, and exotic paintings lined the walls.
I spotted a very attractive guy behind the front desk. He appeared to be in his early twenties with brown tipped blond hair that was styled in that “I woke up like this” manner, piercing blue eyes framed with thick lashes, what is it with guys these days having better eyelashes than I do? Ugh, and a lip ring that looped over his bottom lip. Suddenly his eyes were locked with mine, and the corners of his mouth lifted in a cheeky grin that displayed perfect white teeth that stood a great contrast to his tanned skin. Feeling my face heating up, I quickly averted my gaze. My brother noticed and looked in that direction. He frowned as his brows drew together in an accusing fashion.
Dad led the way with the rest of us behind him. We followed him to the front desk to check in and to get our key cards. The guy’s eyes followed me as we approached the counter: marbled topped with a computer on the right and a pamphlet stand on the left depicting the activities that can be enjoyed in the hotel and surrounding areas. His gaze unwavering until my dad cleared his throat.
