Chapter 16

Mason's POV

When she closed the distance between us, I knew that I could now die a happy man. Her lips came down on my own so gently they felt like feathers tickling my skin. My hands stayed firmly planted on her waist and never strayed. She felt so warm, and she fit so perfectly in my hands. My rough hands on her soft skin were the most natural things.

Our lips started moving together, but I didn’t dare deepen it just as I didn’t dare move my hands. She had never done this before, and I could tell by her careful movements. I lead, and she followed. She started to thread her little fingers in my hair, and I am not ashamed at the fact that I liked it. A lot. Her other hand that was placed on my chest moved slowly, leaving a trail of fire in its wake, up to my shoulder and then to my neck and finally plunged into my hair as well.

I started to lean her back on the floor. Her legs came around my waist on their own accord. With her legs lifted, her cover up slid back revealing her lean tanned legs. It took every ounce of strength to not run my hands up her thighs. When her back landed on the floor, she pulled away startled. I had taken it too far. I pulled back immediately ready to apologize profusely.

When I stated to back away, her legs tightened around my waist. That was all the encouragement I need. My lips latched on to hers hungrily. I was greedily accepting everything she was giving. She moved her hands from my hair which left me disappointed. But then they made their way down my back. I could feel her manicured nails scratching along their journey through my t shirt. They came to a rest on my sides.

My hands tightened on her waist; it was the only keeping me sane. If they wandered, who knew where this would end up, and we weren’t ready for that. I just continued to move my lips with hers. I could feel her wince slightly at my lip ring scraping the side of her mouth, but she ignored it. She never pulled back or pushed me away.

I got brighter behind my closed eyelids, and I felt a slight jolt. A gust of air drifted in as the elevator doors opened.

“What in the absolute hell?!” I heard an enraged masculine voice shout.

Chapter 17

Mason's POV

I pulled back and was off of her so quickly that I fell back on the floor with my back up against the opposite wall of the elevator: the side facing the door. Cass looked startled and blushed as she looked at our audience. I saw my mom with Lee, a man and a woman each topped with dark blonde hair that couldn’t be anybody else besides Cassidy’s parents, who I am assuming is Jack by the amount of anger radiating off of him, and a couple of hotel maintenance men.

“Honey, are you okay?” my mom and who I’m guessing is Cassidy’s mother shouted out the same time. They glanced at each other and gave each other a tiny smile before they boarded the elevator and attacked us with hugs. My mom left Lee standing outside of the elevator while she came over and yanked me up of the floor and hugged me so tight I thought she was cutting off oxygen to my brain. When I glanced over the top of my mom’s head, I noticed that Cassidy was also having the life squeezing out of her.

“I’m okay Mom,” I told my mother gently.

“Let’s get you out of here,” Cassidy’s mom announced, and my mom couldn’t agree more judging by the fact that she followed them out with me on her heels. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, Jack grabbed the front of my shirt and slammed me up against the wall beside the elevator.
